Thing is if 2.2m tickets were ignored each year then this business model they have would go, they can't possibly give small claims to everyone, if there was some way of doing that I would happily endorse it fully.

No. you are reading too much into what I was trying to say.

What I was alluding to was the way in general with all aspects in life not just parking, some people just can not sit back and do nothing whereas others deal with problems by putting them in a drawer, either literally of in their mind.

What is right for some is not for others. But we have seen many times on here where the doing nothing approach has seen default court judgement occurring because the person did not recognise a genuine court paper.

Look, before June this year hardly anyone even knew what an LBC was, and few people were clued up regarding the Practice Direction (including me - that's how I arrived here, looking for pointers on how to deal with one of PE's first tranche of LBA's as they were then called). Drafting court defences and assisting people in court was also rare. Now we have people coming here daily seeking advice with these procedures, and the regulars have gained a lot of experience of these processes. They may still be a small proportion of the numbers of PCNs issued, but you only have to look at the threads to see that these issues are a much larger concern for posters on this forum than this time last year. These are legal issues and need to be addressed. Or do we just tell those posters that we don't help with 'legalese type stuff' and they should go and get help from their local CAB?
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.

A dozen letters written, tell me where ???????

Now this can be handled with 2-3 letters that stops all the carp from these scumbags! You may not like handling this like that, but it doesn't mean everyone is like that, people make their own decisions, it doesn't need to be stuffed down their throats!

Now Daisy has given her thoughts on this on a legal front, I happen to agree because it stops these people sending more and more threatening letters, because if they do then a complaint to the oft is in order, those really can make decisions that effect these dca's .

So in your opinion what should be done? Ignore it all? Are you prepared to write out defences and attend court when things go tits up ? It's all well and good you saying things should be ignored, it's not you facing it! And by the way I was advocating ignore dca's as well, but in light of this thread I can see the merits in replying to them

I agree fully here, I didn't have a bloody clue about this until 6 months ago, I also didn't know that their letters before claim are not compliant! We've got fight this with what's in place as I mentioned previously.

It's good having threads like this so we can discuss, and people take out of it what they want, me I think Daisy has hit the nail on the head with this thread and others, I will be pointing people to this thread and others in my advice.

I give up. If you are all going to wilfully misread what I say and put words into my mouth because I am challenging your cosy little world view then there is no point in saying anything. You win, have the place to yourselves, I shall go off and continue to wage the anti-PPC war in my own way.

That would be a great shame as your contributions really help posters. It's just on the tactics re debt collector letters that there are different views.

But it's not a deal breaker surely? It is the people who come on here who miss out when experienced people leave and different approaches should be offered to people so they can decide what is best for them.

So you want people to do it your way or you pull a strop and say you are off elsewhere !! Have you considered that both methods are correct? I'm not dismissing what you are saying in the condescending way you are with me, I happen to disagree with Guy on some things and Coupon, but I don't let it get to stage where I throw my toys out of the pram!

You are not forced to come here, if you don't like the advice given either argue your point, accept what has been said, or leave the forum, it's up to you ! I will still offer what I consider is advice that helps people.

I leave it to you if you leave, you are an adult make your own choices, like people coming to this forum for advice on what to do
