Help with Microsoft office

You can use Google Apps which I believe is free and allows you to use it for editing office documents. Also comes with storage too.
I would suggest however that if you have one PC only then buying the physical Office (MS 2010)0 -

If you have, Microsoft will send you the download to replace it free of charge.
No i dont0 -
365 is pretty much a virtual app, so it's not installed on your PC. For £80 you get access to it for a year (it's an annual subscription) on any PC, but the £219 one is the full package.
It's installed on my machine. I can see all the executable files and I have the version which can be used on 5 PCs and is renewable each year.0 -
Thankyou.
Im looking for the cheapest option tbh. I dont even mind if its the 2007 version. I mostly need it for the kids for school and my general day to day office type stuff. Someone gave me the last one (they had 3 user and let me use one). But a fault on my pc meant I have had to restore back to factory settings and no longer have it.
What would you recomend?
BIB1 - I think free qualifies as cheapest !
BIB2 - Try Libre Office http://www.libreoffice.org/download/ or
OpenOffice http://www.openoffice.org/
as the MSE article suggests ( and other posters above) it is compatible with Microsoft version.
You have nothing to lose by downloading and testing it out0 -
We have tried open office in the past but it didnt work when say they wanted to open a powerpoint doc in school??0

OP, if you are intent on having Microsoft and not using the free options (I have openoffice and have had no issues what so ever), then google student discounts before you pay top money.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0

I recently had to buy Microsoft office for my IMac when the hard drive had to be replaced.
Microsoft sent me a download replacement but when my Mac was repaired they updated the system so it was not compatible.
I ended up getting Office for Mac half price at Tesco and £10 off with voucher so it is worth shopping around.
if you are ok with an old version you will probably pick one up cheap on ebay.0 -

The equivalent of powerpoint is Impress:
http://www.openoffice.org/product/impress.html
".ppt & .pptx support - Of course, you are free to import your old Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, or save your work in PowerPoint format for sending to people who are still using Microsoft products."1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
