Hi chums well I got into the dentist with an emergency appoinment and he eventually managed to extract the blessed thing it took three of them and an hour and a quarter to do it.Apparently the root somehow had become embedded in my jaw bone so getting it out he had to saw some of that out as well.So now my toothache has gone but I have a swollen jaw and 6 stitches where he had to open up my gum next to it and I feel like I've gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. It hurts like the very devil at the moment and I'm due some more pain killers.I can barely open my mouth so tonights dinner is going to be probably some yoghurt and stewed apple as its soft.Feeling very sorry for myself at the moment ,but it can only get better and it will heal eventually. The stiches feel like wire wool in my mouth so no a lot of smiling going on at the moment.
Right I'm off for my 'soft food 'dinner
Take care all

Bonnie is due to arrive about 18:30 tomorrow night.:o
I am so pleased you got that new job to go to - brilliant move on your part.:T
LW, you are part of the reason I have gone for the new job in very roundabout way. Quick explanation needed there so bear with me for a minute. I work in clinical research, last year we hoped to run a clinical trial for Lupus but the criteria were so strict that we never managed to recruit one single patient, the same applied to other sites in the clinical trial so a drug which could have helped so many Lupus sufferers ended up with not enough patients to make the trial worthwhile.
I have seen this so many times over the years and it really eats away at anyone who cares about research into neglected illnesses. You may recall that I suffer from a genetic condition where the option is surgery or chemotherapy or retinoids or whatever else the consultant fancies trying that week. And he wonders why I don't bother going to appointments
So my new job is based in regenerative cell therapy and it's a relatively new field but it's already giving hope to rare illnesses such as Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa and to burns victims and I hope cell therapy will expand to cover much more and I will be proud to be a part of it, rather than ashamed of the current trial restrictions.
Off my soap box now

Hello all!
What a miserable day, blowing a hoolie all day, and we have has torrential rain, thunder and lightning for the last few hours. Training day done, joints are killing me after a day of restraining folks and would kill for a soak in a bath!
I am shattered, hardly shut an eye last night, so will be off to bed soon, working tomorrow then off for a week!
JackieO-ouchy, I sympathise, the roots of my teeth are interlocked so an extraction is a nightmare and is the reason for my terror of the dentist!RIP Iain
