Nar, a good help for your knee is ibugel rub.much easier on the stomach.
  • Much dryer here today albeit a bit cloudy, but I can handle that, I have washing on the line and a machine load of towels left to do, which I might leave until tomorrow, they won't dry now.
Went into Aldi to get some logs, kindling and coal ready for the new fire, but they had no coal and had priced up the logs wrongly, cue burrefry getting shirty, I know it isn't the staff's fault (well the wrong pricing was) but why advertise it if you haven't got it and they told me that they are not likely to get any  So we are going up to our local farm shop who does it in bulk and it works out cheaper as well, just need to borrow our friend's van on Saturday morning.

Molly. Your poor son  maybe he thinks that he has failed if he comes home pride can make people endure a lot :( But this little spoilt witch :mad::mad: needs reporting to the police, it is assault after all and how much longer before she causes a really nasty injury to your DS. My nephew was in the same situation and she really hammered into him, but because he hit her back he was arrested, because the man is always looked on as the abuser, don't let it reach that point.
You could report it anonymously and the police will have to investigate.

Molly, I would do the reporting for you if you want? Sounds like the Coronation Street storyline with Tyrone, it must be very distressing for you all.

Thank you BB and Floss. He absolutely knows that she is in the wrong as I keep telling him. He has a dream to go to university which I am strongly encouraging and he absolutely knows not to retaliate. She has a history of GBH. My DD will report her soon as she is always telling DS1 he needs to come home - she is furious with her.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all

Still plodding on as best I can - hopefully the elderly Lab arriving tomorrow night will displace the BD somewhat (I got a call last night to say she's definitely coming). I do get very lonely stuck here while Mr LW's at work; and whilst my online friends are wonderful, and I value each and every one of you, I'm sure you'll understand it's not the same as having someone to have a laugh over a cup of coffee with. I have no family, and don't really know anyone in MK other than Mr LW's pal (who I'm actually a little nervous of), and have no idea how to remedy this. Not being mobile doesn't help. Sorry, I'll belt up now.
So, last night we got ourselves a new lizard! This time we have a Bosc Monitor which will grow to about 4.5ft! Atm it's only about 1ft though, we've called it Spot. The guy we bought it off last night had no idea at all what he was doing and the tank it was in was oh so wrong! Spot is so much happier today, still nervy but not as hissy :) It wasn't just buying a lizard, it was lizard liberation :D
Oh how lovely! I'd love to see a picture, once he's more settled. I used to keep snakes - had a corn snake called Jake, a yellow rat snake called Fang, and a Taiwanese beauty snake called Nomad.:o

I'm feeling a bit wobbly this morning as I had a bad day yesterday. I managed to get to my weightwatchers meeting despite missing the bus and having to get a taxi. I'd put on a few pounds which I knew anyway but I started to shake and feel panicky so I left the meeting and went into town. I manged to get to wetherspoons but once I was there I had a massive panic attack and had to ring my eldest DD to take me home. Bless her heart, she ran all the way into town from her house and we managed to leave and get a taxi home. It's really knocked my confidence though as it was so out of the blue. I feel such an idiot but I had no control over it. It will be hard going back to the 'spoons again as everybody was looking at me crying and shaking but nobody came over to see if I was ok. It was just a mortifying experience. Thank goodness for my lovely DD.
(((HUGS))) I can so very much sympathise - I'm ok if I have a dog with me, but if I'm on my own, I get shaky just going the 100 yards or so on the mobility buggy to post a letter.:( Don't beat yourself up, and don't let this bad experience define Spoons for you.;)

Judi your girls are just beautiful; doggy bath time is such fun, isn't it?:D

Judi, what a pair of cuties, your girls are gorgeous.

Molly - I am so sad about your son but enough is enough and he must get out of there. I hope his plans for university work out

LW - when do you get a new doggy visitor?

Looks like current company is in complete meltdown for our site. The proposed jobs we were encouraged to apply for now no longer exist. I am so glad I got out there and found something else to go to in January.

New company really like my colleague and have pretty much given me permission to employ her, so at least one good thing came from the day.

Ive just had a laugh with 'Youngest'. He's just walked in from college and handed me a paper bag. Apparently some health professionals have been into college. Talking about health issues, STD's alcohol abuse, the perils of smoking etc.

He had to fill in a questionnaire about how much alcohol he drinks.... submitted the questionnaire before realizing he's 17. I assured him its not illegal to drink alcohol but just to buy it.

Anyway, the paper bag was stuffed full of condoms.:rotfl:

Oh well, saves me the trip to the chemist I suppose.:D
