When you say the number listed on the website is it 0808 1701708?
If you dial that number from the phone you registered it should give you your account number with call18866.0 -
I've just tried calling Call18866's freephone number to obtain my customer number (0808 170 170 8) and I had no problems, it informed me of my customer number.
UPDATE: Sorry Edinburghlass we both replied with the same information at the same.0 -
They don't have a Customer Services telephone number. The best on offer is web-mail contact via their web site.
That's how they keep the costs so low.How do I contact 18866 customer services?
We endeavour to keep our costs as low as possible so we can continue to offer the best possible rates. For this reason we have chosen not to have an expensive call centre. Please click here if your query has not been answered in our Frequently Asked Questions.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -

This is the one, but number not doing anything?!! Checked and checked the number..
I have moved house in the last few months (6 months ago)but kept same phone no.?? Could this be the problem? It's great in here!0 -
If you've moved house but kept the same number I don't think that would make a difference (it does with regards to using a CPS company (like OneTel/TalkTalk) providing you're calling from your registered landline.
Are you using the orchid dialler or something? If you're on a BT line dial 1280 (this ensures the call is routed via BT and will bypass the Orchid dialler) then 0808 170 170 8.
If it still doesn't work, then I'd suggest e-mailing them and asking them quoting your landline number and maybe the last 8 digits of your card number that they have on their records.
Update: I'd recommend that in the first paragraph of the e-mail you state clearly that calling their freephone number didn't work, etc hence the reason for e-mailing otherwise they may ignore the email.0 -
Has anyone considered that the customer number is also the password to access the account? That means someone could use your registered phone line to get your customer number then register their own number (which could be a payphone in the street).
Or they could just use it for VOIP calls using your phone number and, again, the password to acces VOIP is just the customer number!0 -

I am just on bog standard BT for line rental. Had this problem for a few weeks.
Put in a fault claim to 18866 so we'll see what happens!
Thanks to all of you for tips up til now..

You've not by any chance got the windows password thingy enabled on your 18866 account? When I start to enter my phone number on my 18866 account it automatically fills in and then I just enter the first number of my account and it does the same.
If you try that by just putting in your telephone number then start with 1 and see if you get a drop down box with your account number.0
