payg tarriffs

Does anyone know the cheapest payg tarriff cross net-work for a low user? Im giving my old contract phone which ive had unlocked to my 75 year old dad will probably use less than 50 minutes a month (unless he goes mobile phone mad) no text as he cant see that well. Tried the comparison sites but they are for either higher useres and linked to phone buying or dont give the price per min. Or is there a site that shows the price per minute and offers of the different companies. I have sent off for various sim card just in case they run out (T mobile and orange) but im sure i can get free sim card from any network if tarriff is cheap. Any advise on the best deal much appreciated.
Thank you:confused:

  • Tesco Value SIM (at the moment if you buy a SIM online for £5.00 you get £10 airtime free) sounds like it would suit your dad. All calls 15p per minute, 5p texts (irrelevant I know).
    .......
A no frills tariff for calls and texts in the UK.
Our value tariff is perfect if you only use your mobile to make calls and texts to the UK.
You won't be able to send or receive pictures, video messages or access the internet via GPRS.
You also won't be able to make or receive calls or texts when abroad.
Tesco Mobile SIM & Airtime offer

They use O2 network, if you need to check coverage. I've found them very good.

  • If he makes the calls mainly in the evening, then shock horror vodafone could be the cheapest. 10p per minute any network, with vodafone stop the clock, thats an hours call for 30p !!
