T mobile charge on vat not mentioned !

Options
Hello

Could anyone can help me writing a letter to tmobile complaining about the v.a.t charged who was not told when i signed my contract.

I took for me and my partner 2 new contract with t mobile. when i went to the shop I was told of few option on different contract.
I pick up the one more suitable for me and my partner and I clearly asked the woman who sold me the contract if my final bill will be only £54 pounds for boths. She clearly said that what I will paid each month will be £54 only.
Today I got my first bill and realised that on top of my £54, I had to paid a extras £10 . If i was told that in the first place I will had pick up a different contract as my budget is really tight.

Thanks to anyone who could help me with that matter.

Kind regards.

Thierry

I suspect the ten pounds is something else as your contract would have to include VAT (if you are a consumer).

Have a look at your bill and see what the ten pounds is for. I'm guessing it's the amount on a first bill that covers the few days between the date you take out the contract and the bill date.
  • Helloand thank you.
On my bill the Extras are for the vat. It s my first bill one.

    What techhead said is correct.

It's not VAT. it's just the first few days added to the first bill. Have a full read through your first bill and you'll understand.

You should have been told about this in store (but then again mobile phone retail staff can't do their jobs properly so i'm not surprised they didn't fill you in)

If my calculations are correct then you will have £54 + either £9 or £10.80. Correct?
  • yes it is.
I will read the full contract .
    Thanks for your help.

It's not the contract you need to read, it's the bill. At the end of the bill you'll see the total and VAT itemised. Before that is the part you need to study, it shows you what you are charged for.

That's just the summary, you need to look at the breakdown section to see where the £51.56 comes from and what you used outside your plan.
  • We need to see what timeframes the line rental covers. This is what will backup what Techhead is trying to explain. It is likely you are being charged for 1 month and a few days.
