Chances of Getting a Mobile Contract??

Hi guys,
I was looking for a bit of advice. I have a mobile at the moment that is in my partners name which runs out at the end of the year which my partner wants to cancel alongside his and get our own separate contracts. I have checked my credit report and my Experian score is approx. 820 and Equifax is 3/5. I only have an overdraft for £840 and a £14k loan which I pay on time and have never defaulted on either. I used to have 2 credit cards which are paid off and closed which I also never defaulted on and always paid more than the minimum. I already pay the bill for my current phone so know that I can afford it.
How hard is it to pass the credit checks. I haven't applied for any credit since my loan in Feb. Forgot to add I am in full time employment on £24k a year.
Any advise or any info on your own experiences on this would be much appreciated.

I think a mobile contract is the easiest credit to get except, possibly, the most expensive phones.
That said, it's often cheaper to buy the phone sim-free and use it on PAYG or sim-only contract.0 -
If you want to bump up your credit rating, get one of those 'anyone can get them' credit cards like Aqua, keep the limit low, only use it once or twice a month, and set up an automatic payment in full from your bank.0

Hiya, I did have a vanquis card and a barclaycard which I paid off and it helped my rating. Didn't want the temptation of credit cards so added to my loan for my car. Think it's silly that you have to have a credit card to improve your credit rating. Surely where I only have one debt (well 2 with my overdraft) that shouldn't go against me? Need to have something in place as my partner has a work phone and really wants to cancel both phones x0

Sounds like you should be given a contract without too many problems. I suspect T-Mobile may be one of the more flexible networks but they all have their own criteria and you won't know until you apply.0

You'd think that not needing credit is a sign that you're a good credit risk, wouldn't you?
Not in the bizarre world of UK finance it isn't0 -

No, because with an absent or limited credit history, lenders have little to work on to assess the risk. What they like to see is a consistent pattern of credit being taken, and repaid on schedule. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

As i was told long ago .
You are not a good credit risk as you don't borrow money .Furthermore your bank accounts don't show a great deal of activity .Bank of under the mattress does not count high on credit ratings either .0 -
it depends we cant say whther you would get it or not some people do some dontWhat goes around-comes around0
