  • Very overcast here again, DH has just been out in the garden picking up all of the dead fireworks. Everyone enjoyed themselves last night :D we all came in at 10.30pm, it was late because DH doesn't get home from his second shift until after 8pm.
Still not had the heating on, we are holding out well :D
Aldi have logs and coal in this week so I will get some so that we can light the multi-fuel stove when it is fitted on the 20th :j

I have to go down town to get the rest of my prescription, but I won't go until after lunch, I also want to pick up some more super six bits. I won't be getting super six next week it is all 89p:eek:
    Royal gala apples
    Large flat mushrooms
    Cocktail vine tomatoes
    Persimmon
    Ramiro peppers
    Conference pears
It will be cheaper to go to the market for the next two weeks:(

Right I am off to get some dusting done

  • Bore da all,

Hugs to Hillstep & all who need them.

DD1 didn't get the job & is very upset, DD2 also having an emotional wobble over trying to find a better job as they keep giving her short hours (0 hours contract, so no comeback) and I'm fed up for them & think I'm stressing as I have 2nd mouth ulcer, wich I've never had before this & think I'm coming down with a cold - just what I need before two long night shifts.
Am always down before nights as the older I get the harder I find it but cant afford to change my hours yet, I love the job it's just the nights. Will look to reduce hours in a few years.

Was hoping to make Xmas cake, fruit is steeping, but is too late today, will have to do it Friday with sozzled fruit. Am going to Lancashire Saturday to stay with friends overnight & DH not coming as has been offered ticker to footie match. Wll be nice to see my friends again, it's been ages!

Off to Mr T's for something for tea.

    Hwyl! xxx

    Morning all,

I was late getting up again... this has definitely got to stop. I've had a bath to wake me up but i'm still half asleep. Hubby kept me awake for a large part of the night as he fidgits in his sleep. Then I had a dream that kept going over and over in my head then again, he woke me as he headed off for work and I finally fell asleep.

Anyway, jobs for today and I haven't started yet:

[STRIKE]Strip, launder and remake the beds[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Bleach drains [/STRIKE]
Bath dogs (this might not get done as its such a big job)
    [STRIKE]Vacuum upstairs [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum stairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tea (the pork we were having yesterday but didn't).[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Kitchen floor[/STRIKE]

Got to fit some viewing in too. I watched this last night and hubby said it was me down to the ground. Not so much the cleaning itself but ive taken minimising to the extreme and if things don't 'look' right, they have to go.

Apple crumble for breakfast/dinner (last nights leftovers.) and i'm wondering why i'm not losing weight.:(

    Afternoon All,

Tru - good on you for making a stand. :T
Judi - "Strip, launder and remake the beds" Why do you have to strip to do these jobs? :rotfl:

My knee still has some pain and I am struggling to walk. District Nurse will be calling later to check me over. Have had to cancel BP check this afternoon, hopefully District Nurse will check that for me also.

Have a good day everyone
  • Feeling delighted with my win at the Melbourne Cup lunch ,$180 which I paid off one of the mortgages ( rentals for my retirement ) Also won a pizza lunch at the local restaurant and...... free night in a very hip and trendy hotel in the City to use before 31st January. So thinking I may book it for the night of the Xmas Party for me and OH.

Laksa,Lasagna and Shepherds Pie for dinner out of the freezer with chocolate cake from work and ice cream.

Just thrown an almond tart and a strawberry cheesecake together for a meeting tomorrow. Snook in 3 mini tarts for OH and the kids from the off cuts. Doesn't look too bad!

I know, shocking wasn't it. I am now going through the whole series.:) My main bugbear is order and neatness. I must admit it started after I had the dogs. I think I must have substituted 'cleanliness' (ie dog hairs) for order, excess and neatness. Little things matter. Anyone, feel free to analyse me.:o

    Perish the thought!!!

Then I have a husband who is a perfectionist.....

Most of my jobs are done, watched 3 episodes up to now.:D

Couldn't reach the curtain track, but it was interesting trying. DH will have to get me the ladder after all.

My pile of marking has arrived. My first thought was unrepeatable, but then I remembered the money. Heigh ho, it was my choice.

I need to get yet another poppy, 4th so far this year. I keep losing the black centre that holds it all together. Not a problem to give more money to the poppy appeal but I wish I could keep one for more than a few hours. Frog's one is safely pinned to her buggy.
Mine fell apart the other day, too. I poke it through the zip bit on the side of my bag, because if I attach it to a coat, you can bet your boots I shan't wear that coat again til after Remembrance Sunday. Anyways, I did this, as usual, and was being pushed round Central MK when I noticed all I had left was the green stalk bit. Mr LW thinks they're making them more cheaply this year, so they're not holding together as they should.

    Hilly (HUGS) mate.

Gonna go now, as a huge BD is in residence, I have no friends to be able to talk to, and I don't want to drag the thread down.

    Bonsoir mes amis
We have arrived safely in Pau. 800 kilometre journey, but on free motorways with hardly any traffic, and latterly through the Pyrenes, which were beautiful. I took loads of piccies on mu iPhone, so will try to get some onto FB later. Just having a cuppa, and deciding if we want a meal tonight. We called at our favourite stop on the A23 at Caminreal, were they do a lovely sandwich, toasted country bread, Serrano ham, 3 Pork Loin steaks, and a fried egg. As it was 6 hours from a minute brekky, we devoured them with gusto, but not sure we want a meal tonight at a restaurant. I have other food with us, so it may be a bread & cheese supper.
((LW)) I will set Skye on your BD, but she will probably only lick it to death! Oh, and btw while you may not speak to us physically you do have friends on here, and you would not drag the thread down, so stay here!!
Hilly It must be very frustrating trying to do things with your cast. Let's hope the builder do a good job today((hugs))
Missed that program, will have a fair bit of catching up to do when I get back, guess who timed her returned when tennis was on so will miss it until the weekend!!! Arghhh!!!
DH is the tidy nut at our house, and I let him get on with it :D:o;):A
Every so often he throws a strop and I then have to sort by stuff out, and the we continue as before. :o:o
Looks like DH & Skye are having a snooze, so I will have a browse on here.
Take care everyone, ((((hugs)))), Spoons & positive vibes. DG
