  • Well I went to do this online just now and the verification code I have been supplied is invalid.....
  • I have also noticed with reference to this little gem from the Parking Prankster..

VCS's PCN is invailid as it does not state that If I pay up first I lose my right of appeal at POLPLA.
  • Should I add a number 7 for fun as follows?

    7) Invalid PCN
The PCN issued to the registered driver fails to meet the requirements of the industry code of practice. The code of practice states that PCNs must contain details on how to appeal the charge. Nowhere within the PCN does it inform the registered keeper that if he/she pays the charge before appealing then the right of appeal is lost at POLPLA.

You could add one for fun but there's no need, you won't win on that point.

And try a different browser, please, as it's highly unlikely the code is invalid. Don't give up, there are glitches with certain browsers and you must assume that IS a valid code. There are loads of threads like this and people get round it in the end.

Were you trying to 'add evidence' before you had submitted the actual 'appeal'? Something basic is wrong so try again.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Great.. worked with firefox (I usually use chrome).. worth noting for others?
  • One thing to note which I am a little worried about.

I have received a mail back from Popla thanking me for the appeal. Within the mail is the text of my appeal I put into the submissions box but it has come back formatted as one big block of text on the email and not the nice neat paragraphs I pasted in..it is basically unreadable. Is this normal or should I be worried?

Send one snail-mail (with free proof of posting from your local PO) just as 'insurance'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I think that's normal (did you make sure every word was in the block of text, right to the bottom line?). You could email POPLA to ask if it is readable and do they need a posted version as well?
