At what point did I suggest the world revolves around me? I had a valid point, if the op has additional needs then yes by all means explore the options, but claiming for claimings sake is why this country is in such a mess.

Yeah paddedjohn - best skip over the first question and obvious emphasis as well as the judgemental last...

    I wasn't being judgemental,

You state I think the world revolves around me!

    Whatever, dear.

When people draw simplistic conclusions about the reason the country is in the state it is, or what people should or shouldn't do, perhaps they should ensure they pay for their own personal post.;)

Benefit entitlement - flawed as it may be - is what it is. I might agree with you that need should be a primary focus. Perhaps we should do away with contribution based benefits and anything that may be considered more than subsistence level help.

And if you don't think "22k plus DLA is a good deal in itself," is judgemental, then with all due respect, you're an idiot.

You're clearly the idiot trying to be clever.
My issue, and i stress now resolved and sorted out, at work has no bearing on the state of the country.
So because I made a mistake I have no right to an opinion?

You are a complete twit who is so far up their own backside they can't see an honest question without seeing some sort of ulterior motive.

    Edit.

You know what, I'm sorry I got mad at your response. My comment wasn't intended judgemental and I'm sorry if it came across like that. I honestly believe if someone needs it then by all means claim it. What I don't like is people being greedy and squeezing every penny they can from the system, of which I didn't accuse the op.

Of course you're entitled to an opinion. What you're not entitled to is to have that opinion go unchallenged. Don't be so melodramatic.

What you believe about benefits has no bearing on entitlement unless IDS is looking to you for advice.

So glad your work issues have been resolved. It has been oodles of fun chatting but I must go to bed. Perhaps you should too given how many hours you do and how much pain you're in as I'm sure you can't afford another mistake.

    Nighty night.
  • Do you NEED to claim anything else? Do you have costs that can't be met from your wage?

22k plus DLA is a good deal in itself.

It would be very difficult to live off that amount if, for instance, you live in London and found public transport inaccessible (as many with mobility issues do, especially at rush hour). Funding exists to help disabled people work, and that may include additional transport costs.

You need to stop taking out your stress on other people!

I think theres been some confusion,
i only wanted to find out what i am rightfully entitled to,

e.g tax credits, i will be given refund payments
this will help with my living costs

i feel you should make the best out of a bad situation,
i work full time so its not like im sitting at home claiming benefits
i just want to know if anything is offered for disabled people in full time employment

Have you used the calculator on https://www.entitledto.co.uk? That's a good place to start.

Also the welfare rights people are often at local places like libraries and they can tell you and help you claim.

I think it's great you are in full time work, I'm sorry if it came across any other way :)

I'm querying who is the 'idiot'
    Where's the judgement?
Saying '22k plus DLA is a good deal' is not being judgemental, it's stating their opnion.

I'm on wheels and live in Glasgow.

I get working tax credits with a disability element, my DLA levels stayed the same and I also got an access to work grant for adaptions to my work place (special chair, screen, push button door and grab rails), plus I get a % of taxi fares refunded because I can't use the bus/train alone.
