Thomson Changing Holiday

Yes we booked the adult section from the start. It is the Sensatori in Tenerife and after looking at reviews on trip advisor other people have been in the same section we have booked and been all inclusive with drinks! I called them up today and pointed this out and now they have changed it from being not availiable in the red level at all to now not being availiable in winter! How convenient! I am really being given the run around. I will contact ABTA I think that is my best bet. I am totally disappointed with them.

Some years ago I booked, they then told me the hotel was no longer available. THey proposed a switching to a hotel which was actually quite good. At the time it would have been slightly cheaper but they wanted to charge me more as the price had gone up. A vigorous exchange of views followed and eventually they gave in. They have a peculiar idea of sticking to an agreement. I would pressurise them and not allow them to decided this isn't a materials difference. After all if you had known you would perhaps not have booked.

I personally believe in emailing someone higher up in an company, once I have given customer services a chance. The CEO Peter long seems to have an email of [EMAIL="peter.long@tuitravel.com"]peter.long@tuitravel.com[/EMAIL] and the MD is [EMAIL="david.burling@thomson.co.uk"]david.burling@thomson.co.uk[/EMAIL].

I would email both of them and word it along the lines of:

I booked an all inclusive holiday to the Sensatori hotel in Tenerife on X date which was advertised in your brochure as inclusive of alcoholic drinks. I booked with Thomson because of your excellent reputation for providing package deal holidays. I was therefore very disappointed to receive an email some time after booking and paying in full stating that Thomson are not prepared to honor the all inclusive booking made and drinks will no longer be included. I was offered X by way of a refund, which is very unlikely to cover the drinks package booked.

I would not have considered booking a package deal holiday in which the drinks were not included. I have since read recent reviews on Tripadvisor that mention the all inclusive drinks they had in the Sensatori and when I rang Thomson to question this I was told that it was just winter holidays that did not have inclusive drinks. I was informed that I could not have a full refund of the holiday as the withdrawl of all inclusive drinks is considered a minor change. I disagree that this is a minor change.

I would either like the orginal all inclusive advertised holiday I booked which includes all drinks or if you are unable to provide the package as agreed at the time of booking, I would like a full refund of all monies paid as soon as possible.
