looks to me like the t&c's related only to the offer at end of comp..
so there was none for comp?

I would say the bits in bold relate to the offer and are nothing to do with the prize, what you are being asked to do is to pay the "offer" rate. (cannot find any other terms, in most places the comp details are just a copy of the ones on hotukdeals)

I agree on above
but that was the wording on facebook link I remember
now had this email from Scottish Field

Dear ????
We have spoken with the PR firm who will speak to The Coach House about this issue.
They agree that you should not have to pay this large deposit and will be in touch very soon.

Totally not answering your question but you will be in for a treat. I got married in Glenbervie last month and so have often pop into the Coach House which is stunning.
