I think you're very wise to take out insurance just in case but can't think of anything different to suggest re the stonkingly large deposit.
Tis a bit steep imo but understandable.
Hope you manage to sort it though as it sounds like a great prize

If it's direct from where you are staying then get in touch woth whoever run the competition and ask them about it.they might not even be aware you have been asked. A prize should have no cost to the winner
I have called & emailed they are looking into it ...we shall see:(0 -
Speak to prize peeps. They offeted the prize and should pay and be your third party signature£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

£500 per night is the "discount" hire charge so maybe they do not realise that is already covered.
Not unusual for card details to be required by hotels even with ITV wins but not for them to take the full cost of the stay off it.0 -

There was an offer with the competition where you could hire it at a discounted rate of £500 a night by quoting a word (probably the publication name) so 2 nights hire with the discount would come to £1000, there is no way any deposit should be the same as that (I'll check the details in a mo)
This bit, wonder if they have confused you with a discount booking instead of being the prize winnerEnjoy exclusive use of The Coach House for only £500 per night by calling 01324 556280 and quoting Scottish Field.

alternative available.[/STRIKE] £500 offer is based on a minimum two-night stay and valid until 31 December 2014, subject to availability. Excludes Friday and Saturday, Christmas & New Year. Terms & conditions apply.0 -

oh I see
great thanks
it was written as such that it looked like the terms related to the offer and not the actual prize..
see when I booked she said that is £3,000 pounds
I said but I won I don't pay
she said I know just quoting its £1,500 per night normally
wish someone could check that..0
