Orange wont give me my bill
Options
Background:
A few years ago, i lost my phone on a night out and someone used it to make calls abroad to Iraq, racking up at least £300 on my phone bill.
As someone who rarely makes calls (maybe to my mum every now and then) this was obviously outrageous, however i cancelled it after the damage was done, so Orange didnt want to hold up.
I paid the amount using my savings and left the company. However now i am aware that there is something called a 'Phone ombudsman' and i'd like to put the case forward.
However Orange doesnt seem to want to let go of my phone bill? I've asked for a copy and they keep saying 'yes we'll send it' but nothing actually happens.
I also found it outrageous that they're charging me for my own copy. I even asked if they can e-mail it to save the postage/packaging, and they just declined.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks

He presumably had the bill at the time and has since lost it.
Unfortunately you're wasting your time as any calls made are your responsibility until reported to your network. If you never called abroad why did you have the line open for international calls?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
I don't understand. How do you know there were calls to Iraq if they didn't give you a bill, and why did you ever pay such a large bill without seeing it first?
They gave me the bill at the time- but they wont give me one now.Unfortunately you're wasting your time as any calls made are your responsibility until reported to your network. If you never called abroad why did you have the line open for international calls?
I understand that, however i was with the company for two years and have never made any international calls except for one night, surely breaking the habit is suspicious activity? Hence why i think i have a case.
Also, the reason why i didnt have it blocked is because i never thought of losing my phone in the first place.0 -

If you already have the bill, why do you need it again?
You really are being dense aren't you? Lol..
He presumably had a copy of the invoice, lost it, several years passed and now wants to raise this (for some reason)..
As a result he wants a copy of the phone bill again but has lost it due to several years passing..0 -

I didnt realise i entered the den of pedantic users here:
For the record, they sent me a bill in august 2012- consequently, i threw that away as i paid the bill and left Orange, the company. Therefore i had no reason to keep said bill and any remnants of the contract/bill/whateverfromorange.
WHY AM I RAISING THIS AGAIN?
If you read my post carefully- i read somewhere that there's a thing called the 'phone ombudsman'.
Really, im just going round in circles here. It's not the loss of your phone which is the issue, but the loss of your SIM card. Did you activate the SIM card's PIN? I do think that UK networks are partially at fault for failing activate the PIN on new SIM cards.
I lost my entire phone- im not even sure how it got unlocked as both my Sim and my phone has a different passcode.0 -

It's not about being pedantic but about not making assumptions.0 -
Takes time, also you only have 6 months to raise with an ombudsmanDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
