I thought that the super-hub replaced the need for a router.

As you can guess by the help need I am not computer savy. I switched on my laptop it runs windows 7 I got the windows page up with all the icons and connection bars in 3 mins . It then took just over another 2 mins to get my Google page to get on line.
The connection bars are usually 3 or 4. I have to go out so will sign off for now but thanks for everyone's help.
  • Call Virgin and tell them the super-hub is faulty and you want a new one.

Or go onto their forums and complain about it on there.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

+1 for the above. You'll have to go through the tech support rigmarole again, but just keep insisting you want a new hub.

I have a VM superhub that works fine on its own, yours should as well.

Just been onto Virgin again and they tried to connect just using the super-hub and again it would not connect. The only way it would do so was with the Belkin router. They said that there might be a possibility my 2 year old laptop was not compatible (Samsung). So I am back on line with my router. But at least on line. Thanks again to all.

That sounds like horse manure to me. My old HP laptop which is a good five years old connects fine on wireless or wired. Was it a foreign call centre by any chance as they will talk carp at times.

If you anything else wireless - phone for example, or if you have a friend that can bring another pc around, give that a try.

The call centre was in Scotland and they did say if I could get hold of another device ie; laptop or phone then to try again which I will when able to.
