I too have been getting these emails, which I believe are from santander.0

Well ... it's strange. I got those Emails as well (The attachments have a virus BTW, they're NOT from Santander).
They were sent to an Email address I gave to Alliance Leicester before they were taken over by Santander. I haven't used it for ages.
Early in 2014 I switched my current account to the Santander 123 account and used the current account switching service to do all the hard work. All of the status updates from that service were sent to this old address.
I had an old A&L online account which became Santander and I used those details when I opened my 123 account. I used a new Email address for that and all communications about the 123 account go to the new address - it's only the current account switching service that uses the old address.
So, the address is still active within Santander and I am also wary of blocking it in case something important arrives. I've no idea how to get it changed as it doesn't appear in any on-line accounts/preferences type pages that I can find.0 -
Anyone else got another wave of virus laced spam with "DO-NOT-REPLY Datasharp UK Ltd - Monthly Invoice & Report" in the subject?0
-
Yes. Been getting invoice and remittance emails to my dedicated 'santander' email address.
I guess if Santander won't admit liability, I'll have to change my santander alias to something else and then block this one.0 -

Yes, I got one of those on my dedicated Santander address today.I guess if Santander won't admit liability, I'll have to change my santander alias to something else and then block this one.
That's what I'd do, but I'm concerned they'll leak the new one too.
Looking back through my archives I've found one email sent to the address that (I think) was actually from Santander. It told me that they had sent me an "eDocument" to my online banking and that I should log in to online banking to view it. Trouble is, I've never had online banking with Santander! Never did find out what it was.0 -

It's just getting weird now. Another one sent to my Santander address overnight simply reads:
"A potential complication is that phonological alternations may obscure this division. Test century every 3. He was nominated again in 1976. The encircled enemy will not escape. Each year the town celebrates the Hopkins Picnic the second weekend in July."
Presumably the random text is an attempt to avoid spam filters, but there was no advertising of anything and no links or attachments. So what was the point of that?
Interestingly, the address it was sent from is:
santanderpddy@static-186-121-196-60.acelerate.net0 -
Its JUST SPAM. Some of you must be new to the internet or something....0

Probably nobody.
My theory is they just start at 07000 000000 and work their way to 07999 999999.
I guess they will hit yours at some point.
It's never worked like this. At some point you have entered your number into a form and given explict permission to have your number shared with other organisations for the purpose of marketing.
I have 7 years plus IT experience working for call centres loading customer data into contact centre systems and the data is sold from marketing agencies. Thats the reality.
The reality is also that I have probably had your number in the data I have imported for the various companies I have worked for. Its all the same stuff recycled and it goes round in a big circle.0
