Can anyone help remove date from a photo?

I took a really nice picture of the Chapter House ceiling in York Minster last month and I'd love to frame it but it has the date in the corner. I've tried fiddling around with Paint Shop Pro but I'm not very good at it and it looks horrible.

So does anyone fancy a challenge? I'd be really grateful.

I came across this when I googled remove date from digital pictures

    http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/digitalphotography/ss/removedate.htm

For some reason I can't post links at the moment but hopefully you can find something on there to remove it.

I used to print the date on my pics but I have turned the option off, the data is still embedded on the picure info.

Good luck I hope you get the effect you want.

Edit to add it posted the link on it's own LOL

I'll have a go - how do you want to get it to me?

I'm happy to have a bash, too!
  • If cropping it out would spoil the composition, I'd use the Clone tool. I never have dates marked on pics like that: as nearlyrich points out, digital photos record the date in the EXIF data anyway; and it's much easier to add a date visibly later if you want to, than to remove an unwanted one.
I could give it a go if you like: though I've never done it with a date, I've "removed" various unwanted elements such as twigs in the foreground, dirty marks on carpets etc from photos.

Thanks for all of the offers but I had a go at cloning and I managed it! I was amazed as at first it looked like a massive amount of cloning but I got good at lining up the shades and in the end it took about 45 minutes. I'd post the picture here if I knew how to!

    Thanks again!!

there was a free one on giveawayoftheday.com about a month ago called "Inpaint", obviously it's not there today but the programmes do have a habit of coming around a few times. Might be worth your while having a look on there for past programmes and seeing what the homepage is there might be a trial on offer.
