No, you told them to click on the speak icon by the clock, they like myself, don't have the speaker icon there (I got rid).
Yes, to display the speaker icon, Start, Control Panel, Sounds Speech and Audio Devices, Change the Speaker Settings and tick "Place volume Icon on the taskbar" and the OP is not very forthcoming with anymore info but as I read it he didnt have the Mic Boost option as not all PCs have Mic boost, but who knows he maybe talking to his wife

Yeah, I set mine so it didn't display.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
