Afternoon All,
Was feeling a bit sorry for myself with a swollen knee over the weekend, but seems to be well on the mend.
Lovely Autumnal day here now, however was freezing, -5 C, overnight.
DGS was delighted to get back to Nursery this morning to his friends. He is only 3 and a half and doesn't understand what half term is all about.
Been a very good boy with alcohol over the weekend, mainly due to knee, which will help my annual BP check at the Dr's on Wednesday.
Home made stew for dinner tonight.
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -

Afternoon all,
Just a quickie to warn all who have a Tesco clubcard to check their account. I had an email from Tesco to say my clubcard statement is on the way and that I had £22.00, I was sure I had more than this so I logged in (something I almost never do!) and I found that my name had been changed to a man's and that a load of vouchers had been spent in Stevenage. I rang them and they checked and found that my account had been hacked and they vouchers printed off and spent . As my address had not been changed the original vouchers had still been sent to me so I would not have known until I went to try and spend the stolen ones (iykwim) and as I tend to save them up this could have been some time.
They are resending my vouchers and I have changed my password :mad::mad:
Get checking folks.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick message to say that my DD passed her driving test :j:j:j. Thank you everyone for your well wishes, I really feel they made the difference.:A
Had a lovely day with my grandson, I feel a bit sad that we won't have our special time on a Monday any more whilst DD has her driving lesson although I'm sure she will still come over with him. She just has to save up for a car now. I wish we were in a position to help her out with that but never mind, she is very clever and resourceful and I'm sure it will be all the sweeter for saving for it herself.0 -
Hi all
Thankfully it's sunny, if chilly, here in Concrete Cow Country, so Jessie had a lovely walk this morning - she made two new friends, too, Bailey & Ivy, a "Bitzer" and a Greyhound respectively.
Glad you're having fun with Jessie, can I ask what a Bitzer is?
Gonzo - that cake looks amazing!
dumpling - congrats to DD.
Jools - Hope you feel better soon.
What a glorious day weatherwise, very cold but lovely and sunny. Shame I didn't have any washing to put out!
Not moving on Friday now, the Solicitor from hell (next door) is making life a bit difficult so now have a provisional date of 18th. We'll see. Still, the freezer is now empty and has been cleaned and we can manage fine with what we have left out of boxes although I may need to go and find a wine glass!!
Hugs to those feeling under the weather, take care. XX0 -
Got really fed up today, 3 weeks on and we still haven't heard from the company's surveyor to come and look at the chimney, plus they can't fit until after Christmas :(So we decided to try another local firm today, we went into the showroom at 1pm and we were given a cup of coffee while we were talking to the salesman, their surveyor was on the doorstep at 3.30pm
they are a much better firm, it will cost an extra £400, but that includes sweeping the chimney, a fully fitted slate hearth, a fan that pumps the heat around the room , a meter to measure the water levels in wood, a stove pipe thermometer, a carbon monoxide detector and a few other extras and it is being fitted on the 20th of this month
just got to get some logs and coal in now
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hi chums had a nice day with DGS Mikey, lots of cuddles on the sofa and a bit of t.v. and knitting. He discovered to his delight that Granny's new gadget(my DDs present of her Dds old Ipod) would be able to have games on it and found he could download a free game about Batman .One very happy little 9 year old and my Ipod is now in demand from the other boys
:) great to be though of as 'cool'
:)
He was glued to it this afternoon . Tomorrow is coffee morning at U3A and I can use one of my 'free' coffee vouchers so it won't cost me anything:):)Then youngest DD wants to go to Maidstone for lunch and its her treat so I'm having a nice day for no outlay:):) She likes to treat me once a month at least as I look after the tribe while she is at work.I don't mind as they are good lads and no trouble at all,but it makes her feel a bit better and she likes to 'do lunch' on her rare midweek days off.Although she is a day earlier than usual as its her bosses day off for his birthday and she swopped so he can have a weekend off. She's a good little lass and he thinks the sun rises and sets on her (so do I:):))
Its black as Newgate's Knocker outsifde at the moment and very blowy.I think its definitely time to dig out my big wrap around dressing gown that I bought last year from The White Shop. Its lovely and cosy on chilly nights and its not worth having the heating on as I shall have an early night tonight as there's not much on t.v. and I'd rather snuggle down with a book in bed and a large cuppa
Have a good evening every what ever you are doing

I got my email today, logged on and had to verify my identity with various numbers from my club card, which i think is a new thing.0
