Awake early with DH who had to take the car to the bodyshop this morning to get the dented rear wheel arch fixed. No car now till Wednesday evening as we sold my little car in July when OH got made redundant/retired and DS is away with his girlfriend.

So today? Well we had the heating on for the first time in the morning as it was 16 on the thermostat. I am shortly going to put a load of washing in as the weather forecast is positive today. DH pulled a hm chilli out of the freezer as we will be tired this evening from sorting food.

OH has mot at the Dr's at 12.30 and then we are sorting food at the foodbank.

So hugs and kind words for all who need them and have a good day.

Jackie O your afternoon sounds lovely.

    HH take it steady.

    Morning all,

tried to persuade DH to take the day off as he has plenty of leave and is very tired this morning but no, Mr "I'm OK even if I'm waiting for a heart op" is going in. :wall:Thank God he has a desk job and people in work keeping an eye on him.

Today - more decluttering and tidying as I'll be starting exam marking next week and need the decks cleared before then. I've booked a 'house blitz' for early December as there's lots of places I can't reach or move furniture to get at. Now DH can't help me I've decided to pay for the help - but I want to make sure that the tat has GONE before anybody outside the family sees it :o

Dinner tonight is a steak pie that DH came home with - I'm not arguing even though I can make 'no rubbing in' pastry :D.

Have a good day all x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

    Morning All!
Ankle aches today. One more week then I'll find out if I can have a "Beckham boot"or still have the cast:o

Cat did another poo in the hall this morning. He'd stopped for months but has started again anyone got a solution?

Architect has put in the plans for my extension. As long as we get the planning permission DD, SIL and myself can go to the bank to get them a mortgage.:T They will be moving in with me when it's ready. It means that I get looked after and still have my independence, and they get the room they need:j

Sun is supposed to be coming out later:T
    Have a good day!

    Morning all,

Been raining all night here, but supposed to be getting brighter later on, so I will put a wash on. I have the day off today but need to drop dd off this morning.

I have a load of apples to prepare for the freezer, a bag of eaters and one of cookers I think I will make a crumble for tonight too.

I need to have a good clean clean through whoile house, dinner tonight will be a mini roast with pork chops and an apple crumble to follow.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all,

hillstep sounds like a great solution
Dumpling, lots of positive vibes for your DD

It's lovely here, really cold and frosty but a lovely bright sunny day.
Up and out before 7 this morning, DD dropped at the station, DGS dropped at his daddy's and at dh first job before 8.30. Rang ds3 he seems to have got himself up and out for college on time:D
Dentist at lunchtime for my second fitting for my bridge to replace the teeth I had out.
Last night I made a sausage casserole with gluten free sausages, beans passata, onions, bacon and seasoning. Made sure the Worcester sauce was GF as well, honestly it's a blooming minefield, will serve with jacket potatoes and green beans so at least I can join in. Tonight have mum and dad, ds2, gf, dd and DGS plus ds3. Nine of us for tea so glad it's all in one pot, used 32 sausages:eek: good job it's a big pot.
Rest of the week should be much quieter as DGS not back until Friday.
I love having a big family, but really appreciate the quiet time.
Oh also spoke to my son in Australia as well on Sunday, all doing well and baby Amelia is thriving.
Well enough waffle, going to order some pressies from Tesco website using my vouchers.
Have a good day all x

    Hi everyone,

I didn't post over the weekend because I was busy with Sis-in-law. We spent a lot of it pulling ivy out of Ds and gf's new garden. It will be lovely but has got out of hand. DH was helping DS build a stud wall.

Can't remember whose DD is taking the driving test, but good luck. I hope the planning permission goes smoothly Hilstep.

I'm cold today and trying to get motivated to do some housework to warm up. I've got to wait in for a delivery (vacuum cleaner for te new house) and of course they only narrow the time to a twelve hour window. I also want to try making a kimono for a japanese doll I am planning for DH's great-neice (although the g word is banned from her vocabulary, so aging).

Right, I need to go and find some info for the vetting form I've got to complete in order to volunteer to help elderly people out so I shall get on.

    Have a good day.

    Hi all

Thankfully it's sunny, if chilly, here in Concrete Cow Country, so Jessie had a lovely walk this morning - she made two new friends, too, Bailey & Ivy, a "Bitzer" and a Greyhound respectively. :o

Lunch yesterday was roast chicken, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, brussel sprouts, roasties, mash, yorkshires and gravy, chocolate cake for dessert. I did have a slice and remembered after I'd eaten it and felt bleurgh... why I don't generally bother as after a main course I really don't need anything else. Didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day!
We like to have a dessert of some sort, but usually have it for "supper" rather than immediately after our dins.:o Suits me better, and Mr LW couldn't care less, as long as he gets it at some point.:D

Is he perhaps keeping busy with work to keep his mind off the impending op? :o Good that his colleagues will keep an eye on him.

We have to pop to @ldi when Mr LW comes in - luckily dins is the 2nd half of yesterday's quiche, so I don't have to do major amounts of work, just throw it on a plate with a few spuds (chips if Mr LW has a say in it):D He did offer to visit Morries at lunchtime; but I want grapefruit juice, which Morries don't carry, and also I'm getting a bit fed up with him coming home with whisky and wine as well as the things I've asked him to get, when I'm trying to cut back on alcohol. He means well, but he "forgets". *rolls eyes*.:D

Jessie's going home this afternoon; but I'm hoping there'll be another booking for me. Watch this space......:D

  • Poured down here all night. I have done some washing and it is on the line, the wind is really blowing a hooley so it should dry, but it is looking decidedly grey out there at the moment so I have my one good eye animated-smileys-rolleyes-09.gif on the weather, it is a lot colder here but I am holding off on the heating for as long as I possibly can we have been lighting the biofuel stove every night which really does take the chill off, I can't wait until the stove is fitted.

The fireworks were good last night but we were frozen by the time we got home. Had a nice hot shower, put on jammies and snuggled under the fleece to watch Downton :D

DH is in panic mode because he received an email from his tutor this morning saying that he has to do a presentation tomorrow, honestly why the tutor couldn't have told them before they broke up for half term I really don't know

Dinner tonight is lamb curry using left overs from yesterday.

    (((((Hugs))))) to all poorlies
