Newborn clothes

None of my 0-3 clothes fit my daughter and shes 4 weeks old. I as well thought 0-3 would fit a newborn. We got given a few newborn outfits and I was like no way will I need these my baby will be bigger than that.
Her predicted weight was 9lb 6oz so thought I'd made the right decision. She weighed 6lb 8oz and the newborn clothes were too big, had to roll the sleeves up and of course we've had to go out and buy newborn outfits to have enough. She's now 8lb 3oz and still in her newborn clothes though of course they fit a lot better now.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Thank you all so much. Seems most of you did get a lot of use out of newborn and 0-3 is too big for most at first
I'm glad I asked

My two were both over 9lb and fitted in newborn for a week. Neither lost any weight either, both hungry hippos that never stopped feeding. My 1st born was the first child, grandchild and great grandchild on both sides of the family and we were incredibly spoilt. The number of vests and sleep suits we had was ridiculous - they all got worn once, washed and put away, they also clothed my second and my nephew who at 6lb got a lot more wear from them0

I would recommend having a few newborn sizes. I was told I was going to have a big baby and just went for 0-3. My little guy came a week early and although he was 7lb 15oz he was still in need of early baby clothes. Of course this meant the other half had to fly out and get some more clothes!0

My DD was 7lb 15oz, I had a set of sleepsuits in newborn and vests, but clothes I brought 0-3mths, she lost the 15oz in the first few days, - then overnight she put on 3oz, and made her weight up, generally I brought a few bits, as your find friends uy for you, and then ur get given hand me downs.
Nappies - They can de different sizes, even though they say x size, so for the 1st couple of sizes - try not to overstock too many xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
My LO is now 8 weeks old and is about to move up to 3-6mths sleepsuits. He is long and has issues with the feet in them too! He had a newborn sleepsuit which lasted about a month, but everything else was 0-3mths, and he was 7lb8oz so not huge.
It was nappies I had a problem with. Mr S nappies size 1 lasted a month, but I am still going with Mr A size 1, they vary in size a lot so beware!0 -
Get a few of each secondhand at an NCT sale. Most people are willing to hand down their baby stuff.
I had to tiny/prem stuff for one twin and new born for the other. Asda does these. By a pack of each size but dont prewash. Then take back the too small size and 'size up'0
