hi all
Just popped over from the Old Style Moneysaving board to ask about switching from Sky to Freesat as we want to trim our bills. Anyone done it recently?
What did you do about broadband and phone?
We have sky+ hd no films or sport and phone and broadband in one package with an extra box in son's bedroom.
Thanks

You do not have to cancel Sky phone or broadband if you drop the TV service-they're separate contracts and services. If you have a Sky LLU service then it's probably worth retaining it.
If you cancel your Sky sub, then all the Sky Free to Air channels (Freesat From Sky) will still be available via your existing Sky dish and box. However you will lose the Sky+ functionality, and access to any existing recordings.
If you want to retain the PVR functions then just buy a Humax Freesat PVR (for Freesat rather than Freesat From Sky) and use it with your existing dish. It's a straight box swap, nothing else is required. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
hi Macman thanks for the swift reply. Very clear.
Can you tell me what Sky LLU is please?
Thank you.

Local Loop Unbundled. If you are on any broadband tariff other than Sky Connect, then you are on an LLU service.
Or post your exchange name and someone will check. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
