How much does a litre of drink in a plastic bottle weigh

Often when you go on holiday in Europe in the supermarkets they sell a litre of say Whisky, Brandy or Gin in a plastic bottle. If you decided to bring it home in your "Hold Baggage" (especially as you cannot put it in your cabin baggage), does anyone have any idea how much this bottle would weigh. Certainly considerably…
