TSB won't give my a/c info to Santander!

I know the address has to be exactly the same but what's a 'pan number' and how is it applicable to this?
Only info I can find on it relates to India.0 -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_card_numberSome card issuers refer to the card number as the primary account number or PAN.
Presumably just to confuse the life out of their customers.0 -
What I'd really like to know is if anyone else has had/is having this kind of experience and how it gets resolved quickly - i.e. is there anything more that I can do to speed things up?0

I am no fan of this switcher-malarky, not least because of the mess people can get put into by the bankers. I appreciate your quest for the TCB cashback, though, and you have the ball rolling now. Or so you should hope.
May be just pester them (Santander) for an update every day from now on? You have plenty of reason to be concerned that the switch might not got as smoothly as you were led to believe it would do.
And definitely check that all the DDs and SOs that you expect to get moved are actually showing in your 123 account, and that your pensions appear on the expected date in your 123.
If any DDs/SOs are missing, you might have to make manual payments, alongside some strong complaints.0 -

Yes to make sure everything goes smoothly take a statement from your old bank with you to make sure that the address you give your new bank is an exact match to the old one.
Same thing if you have an uncommon or double-barrelled name.0 -

Good idea to pester Santander, I will.
I also actually printed out the TSB page listing all of my direct debits as it gives account details for each, although I know from my own records what dd payments are made each month and how much they are for. I have the info as a scanned pdf should Santander need or want it.
Re incoming payments, there are only the state and small private pensions arriving regularly and I have contact numbers for both just in case they don't transfer properly.
It does however say on this site that if anything is missed the bank arranging the transfers (Santander) is liable - so I won't be penalised financially for their mistakes. I hope that's 100% correct!
This is the first time in twenty years that I've changed banks, so this '7 day switch' seemed heaven-sent - hmm.
Thanks for the advice and again, if anyone else has actually had this kind of thing happen please post - it could help other people as well as me.0 -

Yes, I understand now what the pan number is.
Hopefully I won't have to go to a Santander branch, especially as I'm paperless re statements (although it is possible to print one of sorts from the TSB online banking website). I know I can order one but don't want to have to - don't think I should have to and it would be an extra delay waiting for the thing to reach me by post in any event.
My address details are identical so no problem there, and my name is easy if not a particularly common one - they've got it right so far so hopefully that won't be a problem either!0 -
Sorry to be pedantic here but even Lloyds calling you say Ms and new bank calling you Miss or Mrs is enough for the switch to fail.
That's why I would check and double check everything.0 -

I appreciate what you're saying, and banks/computers are also pedantic in this sense.
But I've always been a Miss, and amiss on some occasions! Think it's a bit late to double check though, as everything is already being processed - hopefully!0 -

I'm an ex A&L customer and I have never had any problems at all with Santander since the takeover..0
