You think that everyone here is wrong and you are right? :)

How much is the Chromebook that you are considering? Much the same price as the full laptop to which I linked?

My laptop is rarely off and it is more than four years old.
Perhaps her device was just poorly made rubbish or perhaps she just mistreats them.
Perhaps you should get her a flat surface on which to place her device.

As I wrote before, PC World is waiting for your question. Here, we use common sense.

I have no idea who is wrong and who is right, because I haven't yet found a definitive answer to my question.

Chromebook is around the £200 mark so pretty much the same price as the one you linked to, but I don't fancy buying a laptop from eBay, much less a refurbished or customer returned one.

So, without another laptop to test the virtues of a laptop I'm considering buying there's not much I can do with regards to finding out if a website will work or not.... great.

Never mind, I am sorry I asked now!

Often when people come here for a pat on the back, they leave disappointed. :)

A simple example for you. You buy a Chromebook online and discover that it doesn't allow you to play online Bingo. So you return it. That can no longer be sold as new. So it is checked and then sold as 'refurbished'.
The one to which I linked would have been shiny and new, but just at a £90 discount to the new price. That retailer has sold more than 125,000 items.

But of course, you know best. ;)

    Far better than the Chromebook.

OP, the Chromebook will 'probably' play the online games.

Thank you, that's all I needed to know.

it's a moneysaving site, people are trying to save you money - you implied it doesn't work, it was burnt out (whatever that means), then it was old - so don't be surprised if people try to ascertain what exactly is wrong with it - a simple question also, still unanswered. Then it moved to a want not need.

try a bingo site, because the odds of finding a bingo playing chromebook user on the mse techie forum aren't very good.
