Job Centre Service

Phone your JC advisor & get details, no point trying to guess.thelilradish wrote: »Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I had my usual Job Centre meeting on Friday morning to sign on etc and my advisor referred me to a service on Monday morning at 10am, where I would be enrolled so that I can visit said service whenever I like to use the computers, get free postage stamps, get help with writing cover letters and general other advice.
He called up and referred me on to the service and said that I would get an email and a courtesy call that afternoon to confirm everything but I didn't receive either.
The problem is, that I don't know what this service is called, I don't know where it is and as the Job Centre is shut until Monday morning I can't find anything out.
If I can't find out, I will go to the Job Centre as soon as it opens on Monday so I should still have time to get to this 10am appointment.
But does anyone know what this service is called please so I can possibly search for it now to set my mind at rest?
Thanks

Thanks everyone for your concern!

Yes I got to the Job Centre just before 9am and they told me where to go, which was thankfully just a couple of minutes drive up the road, so I got there in plenty of time for 10am.
The service I am enrolled on is called JCPSC Support Centre and it's a 6 week course where I can get help with cover letter writing, interview techniques and they will go over my CV with me. The woman leading the course went through this with everyone at the start and we had a one-on-one with her afterwards to talk about what we wanted to achieve.
I was shocked at the amount of people that casually strolled in late though! One gentleman walked in at almost 11am!!
Anyway, thanks again for all your help. Funnily enough, I got a letter today (Tuesday 5th) detailing the course and telling me to get there for 10am on Monday 4th November... :rotfl:

A 6 week course on a CV and letter writing? Wow what are the going to do for the 6 weeks? You can cover that if you really do need the help in 2 days.thelilradish wrote: »Thanks everyone for your concern!

Haha I know! Thankfully we only have to go there for at least an hour a week.
They give you use of their computers as well, although that irks me as I have a perfectly good computer at home that I use for job searching...
I could do with the interview coaching I reckon though, as I get so horrendously nervous that I'm sure that's where I'm messing up.0 -
you will be amazed at their interview coaching if its anything like the Work Programme one! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:thelilradish wrote: »Haha I know! Thankfully we only have to go there for at least an hour a week.

Oh Lord, that good huh?!
Reading through some threads about the Job Centre services, I'm wondering if I'm better off carrying on job searching on my own haha!0 -
Oh yeah at the work programme the 'employment advisor' banned me from answering the questions in a group session and asked me if I wanted to take the session!! :rotfl::rotfl:thelilradish wrote: »Oh Lord, that good huh?!
