Ok, thanks anyway, I've searched these and nothing seems to be coming up for my area (Wiltshire)

Never mind, I didn't realise that different areas have different processes. I'll just go to the Job Centre before the appointment.

    Thanks though.
    Job Shop? http://www.wiltshire.ac.uk/careers/job_shop/ ?

Get there at 8.30 (think the jc opens at 9am?)

Like I say wherever it is you are meant to be at 10am you will be expected to get there and on time. It may not even be in the town you live in.

I don't actually want to be unemployed and I am not enjoying it. The services were meant to send me an email confirmation to give me the venue details and they were also meant to call me and they didn't, so I'm not exactly chuffed about that either.
That's for the place where you are going to confirm it but did you hear the Job Centre give them your email address on the phone?

I would have asked the JC to put it in writing or would have asked at the time 'what if I don't get the email'

Bit late now but good luck

  • Oh my gosh, I hope it is in the town I usually go to the Job Centre in!

I did hear him give my email address and I really wish I had asked "what if I don't get the email" but I stupidly trusted that I would!

Thank you for that link, it's coming up with one of the locations being the town that my Job Centre is in, so if it is the Job Shop I should hopefully be ok time-wise!

    Thanks again.

The job shop do similar to what you have said in the first post here so lets hope it them

Just get to the JC EARLY so you have enough time to get to the place. Just say you were waiting for the call that never came and an advisor should be able to tell you where you are going to. Get there asap

AP007, the OP has already stated several times that she will be at the JC for when it opens on Monday.

That may be the case so lets hope the OP can get to the appointment on time.

I had an appointment with Next Step in Weymouth - they have a floor above the Jobcentre. I'm not sure if that's the same Next Step or a different one. Hoping the OP got to her appointment, wherever it was. :)
  • Disgusting how you could be sanctioned BUT they can fail to give you the full information and fail to send a confirmation email. Mind you a lot of the Job Center staff are barely literate...
