A new wonder of the world to be built in London

This looks amazing ...

I think it's far to say London is one seriously up and coming city.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

I wonder why there is such enthusiasm for HS2, which promises a swift exit towards The North.

I think the reason for HS2 is because they will need more workers brought into London because it will be the power house of the Uk and the workers won't be able to afford to housing inside London so we need to make commuting quicker.

I don't understand the point of it, frankly. Waterloo and Blackfriars bridges seem perfect adequate bridges to me, even though there's not a single plant on either of them I have successfully used both to achieve my objective of getting from one side of the river to the other.

I don't really understand the point of that massive new library they just built in Birmingham. Now that we have the internet, and Kindle, why do we need architecture?

And I definitely don't understand the point of the Turner prize (which has been farmed out this year to the Irish, I'm pleased to say).

It's all just so flicking Inglish, innit. Enjoy.

As long as it's there, well away from where I really live. Then I won't see the weans chucking rotten fruit at it.

The Turner Prize is being held in the UK as always. The Irish have no input. It's actually being held in the UK City of Culture. http://www.cityofculture2013.com/

One of my primary thoughts as I am crossing a bridge is .... this place needs more trees and shrubs.

In fact, it's probably more important than getting to the other side.

But then, I guess you have more time to admire shrubbery when you are stuck in London gridlock traffic.

I believe you have misunderstood the nature of a railway line. It works both ways. It will equally well provide a swift exit from the North.:)
