Are the advents worth it?

Every year, we seem to have a thread with this question on it. LOL
Advents are done more for the experience, I think. If you enjoy Christmas and all that comes with it, don't bother with them. Enjoy the holidays. The advent comps can become a deep, dark hole, that like someone said before, only opens up when you realise everyone has left FB for Christmas.
I entered about twenty advents two years ago and found it very tiring, but I won a Nintendo 3DS, a CD and a make-up hamper.
Last year, I went all out and entered all 300+ comps every single day, which took me over 3-4 hours a day. I felt sick by Christmas and what did I win? A DVD and something else small.
Like another poster, I had my biggest win in a New Year comp.
I agree that it is like comping at any time, you can enter one hundred and win one, or enter a couple and win big.0 -
As Someone who's taken to not comping during the day on a Friday and rarely does month ending comps, you can probably guess what my answer'll be...?
Bottom line? (Applies to comping at any time of year,) Only do it if you're enjoying it and don't let it become a chore. That way lies madness.Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0 -

In my opinion, no. Last year was my first year and I think I did a reasonable amount (though certainly not as many as some). I didn't win anything. This year I'll be sticking to doing just the ones with great prizes/from brands I really like.2018 wins: Aspinal of London jewellery box, Boudavida gym outfit, HP Pavilion laptop, The List party tickets, All Points East festival tickets, Kiehls moisturiser, By Terry cc serum, Nars Liquid Bronzer, Benefit highlighter, Nars illuminator, Fresh advanced lip trio set, Cetaphil sample set, signed copy of My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent0

my wins in December are usually very very low and as becski said it is very quite after xmas, so I get very organised and have several bookmark pages that I pop comps into e.g.
daily comps that can be enter anytime from 00.01 each day - I tend to log on and enter these before I go to work
daily comps that have a question that doesn't change to half way through the day or need entering after midday - I enter those in the afternoon
general comps that end before xmas - I bookmark and sort by date and enter when I can
general comps that end after xmas - I bookmark and catch up with all of these after the big day has passed

All I'm saying on the matter is that if I don't win a prize from the Voltimum advent I'm going to smash up my laptop with a hammer!0

Here's the Decmeber winning list from last year. Take a look and decide if advents are worth it
(A lot of these are prizes from advent-type comps)

Aww, nice to look back on that thread and see people speculating about 2013 and their up to date sig shows they have done well this year0 -
As everyone else says its just down to luck, my first 3 years doing them I had at least one nice win and a few bits and pieces, last year entering more than ever all I won was a tin of hot chocolate.
Saying that of course I'll be doing them again this year, I love and hate them at the same time but I can't resist:)0
