National Black Cat Day.

black cat's are gorgeous (but i think all cat's are:D), I had to have mine pts last August after she had a stroke, she was 19 1/2 so lived to a good age, especially as she originally came to me because she was going to be drowned as the other kittens had all found homes but no-one wanted the black one.

she was the most slinky, stubborn madam i have ever known & i love her & miss her to bits!

I have one wholly black cat, one wholly white cat and three black and whites in varying degrees. It almost looks like one cat who's been slowly covered in black paint... Not that it was ever planned this way: it's just how life's turned out! I wouldn't change my monochrome family for the world. I've had three solidly black cats now and each has been unspeakably loyal and calm (whereas my torties and tabbies I've known over the years have been super temperamental!). My black and white gang are so striking, so pretty in their markings; I can't imagine how anyone would pass up a black and white kitty. As soon as I heard the plight of the black and black and white cats I promised myself I'd only take on cats of those colours, or a disabled cat of any colour (hence the stone-deaf, all-white resident!).

Cats are bloody fantastic. I could talk cats all day long...

I have one totally black and one totally white too:D

And yes, cats are marvellous, I don't trust people who don't like cats.

I now home a black cat that was living in my garden since oct.. by feb i had him microchipped and he is now ours..i love him to bits, he is funny, cheeky, talkative and loveing ..couldn't be without him now. :smileyhea

Got 4 black cats (and 3 tabby + whites, and 2 tortoiseshells). Rescues all the way for us.

It's the superstition since they are regarded as witches' cats/familiars. Hence why it's considered bad luck if a black cat crosses your path.

Really bad in places like Norfolk where superstition is rife.

Basically, stupid reasons really.

I have a B and W cat and would have a black cat if I were to adopt again. To me it's akin to racism.

Mine and my hubby's conversation on Halloween:

DH "we have two black cats and it's halloween... where's your broomstick?"
Me "I am only allowed to fly it on a night"
DH "I thought you would have punched me for insinuating you're a witch"
Me "why do you think I wanted black cats!"

I love cats regardless of colour or fur markings, which are unimportant IMO, but if I had to say a favourite type it would be short haired black and white cats, they're just so cute and have the best funniest personalities in my experience . Plus one of my cats now has the most beautiful fur, soft and very glossy.

My first ever cat was a black and white stray we took in, I had him from the age of 4 and a half to 13 and he was hilarious, always up to tricks. Last April I got two black and white rescue kittens and they're equally mischievous . When I get another cat I'd always pick a black and white over any other colour, and would probably choose a pure black if one was available.
