Good Credit Rating - still apply for Aqua Advance? Free £20 amazon voucher

email from MSE, my question below.
Free Amazon £20 on 'rebuild your credit' credit card. If you can't get good credit, bizarrely, one way to build your score is to get any card, even at a poor rate, and use it properly to build a decent history.
The Aqua Advance* (use the Credit Rebuild Eligibility Checker) accepts some with poor credit. On top, if you make monthly payments and stay in your credit limit for 2mths, you get a £20 Amazon voucher.
To rebuild your credit, get the card, do around £50/mth of your normal spending and set up a direct debit to repay IN FULL to avoid the big 34.9% rep APR. Full help in the Credit Rebuild Card guide.
I have a pretty good credit rating. I'm wondering if it's worth applying just to get the voucher and then close it after 4 months. Just wondered if people on here with good ratings had been rejected as it for people with poor ratings?

Many people here with very good ratings have Aqua Reward.0

I applied for this card a 3-4 months back.
I posted on this very forum about it.
I got my £20 Amazon voucher last week and spent it no problem. I cancelled the card this week

I applied after seeing your post and got accepted straightaway and sign credit agreement online.
It said the card and pin will be with me within 5 - 10 working days so finger crossed.
I was looking to apply for their cashback card but seems it has been axed.

Sadly, I was too late to apply for the Aqua Rewards card that was launched last year. I applied for the Aqua Advance just a few days ago because I discovered that it also has the free foreign use perk. I was accepted instantly and was told that my card and pin would be sent to me between 5 - 10 working days. No clue what my limit will be though.
I don't necessarily have bad credit. I have been using credit cards sensibly for three years and before that, I used store cards. However, I still find it difficult to apply for many mainstream cards because of my low income. (I'm a student on a gap year in part time work!) So for now, I'll keep using cards like these and maintaining my positive credit history. I suppose the high APR hardly matters to me since I always repay in full.0 -
@carousels, have you got your aqua card yet and what is the limit on it.

I haven't, actually! I applied on 30th October. I did get a email after I applied, stating:'Thank you for applying for the aqua Advance credit card. Your application was successful and you will receive your card and PIN separately within the next 5-10 working days.'
Today is the 6th working day and I've had nothing through the post. I'll let you know when I get it and how much my limit is.0 -
Thanks @carousels, I too applied on nov 1 and got same message saying it was accepted and quoting 5-10 working days. I signed my agreement online but have read somewhere in the forum that they will send out agreement where you will see your credit limit. nothing till now though so finger crossed.Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/50

Hi moshoodo1
Just got my pin through the post - 8 days after I was accepted. It doesn't state what my limit is. Will probably tell me on the letter that arrives with the card. Hopefully, it'll arrive either tomorrow or early next week. Will keep you posted.0
