We have 2 children, Girl first now to be 30 this year and has given me the most wonderful little grandson aged 15 months. Son who will be 25 this year still lives at home with us and single. At the age of 59 I am content with what I had, and wouldn't change either of them for the world...... because my family is my world alreadyWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0

I have no children, do I regret it? Every day - but you don't get everything you want in life.0

I have children though they are no longer children. I had two from my first marriage, three from my second.
Would I have had 5 again if I could go back in time? Probably not. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just the one DD. She was very ill when she was born and DH and I made the decision very early on that we would not have any more children.
We have never regretted the decision. We made sure she had plenty of contact with other children growing up and now at 20 has loads of friends.
My DH and I were each one of 3 - he doesn't speak to one sister and I don't have anything to do with mine!! You cannot guarantee that siblings will always get on.
We hope that our DD lives her own life and does not feel obliged to do anything for us as we get older - we would hate her to feel like that.0 -
if I knew then what I know now I would not have any. Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
In the end, it's not the years in your life

I have five children and one grandchild. Youngest child is forty eldest fifty so probably no more grandchildren. Four children live within five minutes drive one forty miles away. I see none of them regularly or frequently although we are on good terms. As others have said having more children doesn't mean more care in old age. Mine think I am still young!!! I'm 730

When I was in my late 20's I worked with several women who were in their late 30's early 40's (old to be having children at that time) when I announced that I was pregnant with my 3rd child two of them broke down in tears and told me, each privately, that they wished they had had more children but now it was too late. It was then I decided that I wouldn't make that mistake and feel I was one missing! went on to have a 4th baby and then adopted another. I feel I am blessed to have such a large happy family draining my cupboards!! My dil's and grandchildren are a marvellous bonus. Unfortunately we have our share of problems (Downs Syndrome being one) but we are a mixed bag and love each other to bits. Do what suits you not what suits others.Slightly bitter0
