Is this the same padington that was continually posting about silver and how they had made so much money from it?

It's a shame all the silver threads were deleted so there isn't an audit trail.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Apparently he lost his shirt by trying to 'catch a falling knif' and buying on each fall. He posted that he lost everything and now lives in a box under a railway bridge. The posts have been deleted though because ramping dodgy investments is frowned upon.

He he, I've only ever been transparent in my novice investment movements amigo's. I moved out of of silver and gold just after the big slide and was very thankful I didn't leave in any later than I did. The gold bugs were wrong and property bulls were right and I think this thread was fairly honest appraisal of how right the property bulls were in the end.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

The gold bugs have moved onto bitcoins - another speculative bubble that they joined too late - and so have to ramp it up on here (and no doubt other forums) in order to make up for the losses on PMs.

The gold bugs and property bugs were both wrong.

The rise and rise of Bitcoin over the last 20 months make any returns on property seem like pennies.

And the returns over the next 20 months will again be greater than anyhthing property has to offer - even with leverage.

    bitcoin ramping reported

Par for the course, though I couldn't see what dryhat posted:

"dryhat This message is hidden because dryhat is on your ignore list."

I always put the obvious trolls and rampers on ignore. They don't post anything of interest and this helps make it easier to scroll past their tripe. :)

I see your point, but I don't mind reading dryhat's ill-informed posts. His level of ignorance on bitcoin security and the cryptograhic technology behind it is quite amusing actually.
On the other hand, I believe it useful to point out the ponzi scheme nature of bitcoin. Like all ponzi schemes, the top of the pyramid will cash out, and the base will get the proverbial shaft.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

As far as I know dryhat bought into Bitcoin near the bottom, which means that he has made quite a bit of profit. Don't get me wrong Bitcoin has no interest for me, but I don't understand why some seem to feel threatened by it, I'm happy with my portfolio, why can't you let him be happy with his?

If you think that he is ramping it, just don't allow yourself to get sucked in. Anyway there isn't any point in ramping here, there are so few posters and those that are here tend to be less than open minded anyway, so they are not particularly susceptible to suggestion.

    Fair enough, chucknorris.
Can't say I feel threatened by bitcoin as I know enough about it to stear well clear. If dryhat bought near the bottom, good for him. But saying on the forum that the returns of bitcoin will be x or y within a year and adding '100% guaranteed' is absolute nonsense.

Well you are of course right about the 'guarantee' but I don't think anyone takes that too seriously, live and let live. It wouldn't put me out if dryhat made a killing with Bitcoin, I'm more concerned with what happens to my investments, which unfortunately don't come with any guarantees, but I'm (sort of) happy enough with them anyway.

At the moment I can't get my strategy with shares settled, recently I invested quite a bit more to move towards a more balanced portfolio, but yesterday I sold half of my non ISA shares. The market just looked high and I thought that another opportunity will come along soon to buy back in at a cheaper price.
