Where Has Our old Friend Win Gone?

As you know how to post a competition in the correct format is:

E: 21/11 Win Something Brilliant

So where has the win gone as most people now post like this:

E: 21/11 Something Brilliant

Has anyone seen the word win lying around?

I see where it mentions the word win, but it's actually quite confusing as in the examples it says

So a few examples to sum it up:
E: 28/12 Trip to New York (email)
    E: 15/09 Bee movie DVD (U16)
    E: 05/03 3pm Indiana Jones Goody Bag
    E: 07/01 £50 ToysRUs vouchers (email)(Oxford)

And none of those say win

LOL I'm sure they don't mean that the word 'win' is compulsory. I think they use the word to indicate that this is where to type the prize. There is no practical reason to have to use the word win - unless someone knows differently, natch.

I thought you were asking after someone called Win who hadn't been around for a while :D:o

 I put Win in some of mine LO :rotfl::eek: eg

E: 31/10 Win an 8-piece stainless steel kitchen utensils set with Canned Food UK

    E: 09/11 Win a Bailey & Quinn handbag

E: 04/11 Win the Gorgeous Beauty Giveaway - Bella Magazine

though sometimes if the title's to long it won't all fit in the title bar as MSE only give us so many letters to fit in it
so sometimes have to leave it out :D

I agree it is confusing, perhaps we could ask VelvetGlove who looks after the thread to clarify it?

Now that would be a good user name!

I've always been told to post comps with win as I showed. Perhaps someone can come & clarify things so we can clear it up & ask purpleglove to change the wording in the thread if I'm right

So is it Fire**fly you should always post the word win as the comp forums format?

Or is it not that important? I.E dosen't play up in searches or game over

I'm not sure i've been posting wrongly, as the forum examples also don't state the word win, and like fire**fly says sometimes the comp title / info is too long to fit the word win, and sometimes things like TW or Fb are more important to have in the title. :o
