Jumping ship from Orange
Hi,
Over the last 9 months, I have received customer service of the most ridiculous levels of incompetence and have been complaining to the hilt with Orange Chief Exec's office to no avail.
Long story short - I want out, and need some advice on the best way to do it.
My contract expires in April, and they have told me that it will cost £160 to cancel it from today.
I currently have a Galaxy s3 (i9300), which the mobile recycling sites will offer me about £160 for, so I could use this to pay off the contract.
My phone has some chips around the bezel. Nothing major, just cosmetic blemishes, the screen is in perfect nick.
Questions:
- Does Phones4u (or anyone else) still offer to buy out existing contracts?
- If they do, do they ask for your old handset, or could I still sell it elsewhere?
- Also if they do, could I still get the same tariff deals as a regular customer (ie without the buy out)?
- I could potentially get an LG G2 for £26/mth, do I take this or wait until the Nexus 5 is released, which shouldn't be too far away?
- Is the Nexus 5 likely to be free on contract?
- Which recycling company is least likely to quibble about the cosmetic damage?
Thanks!
