You're the reason games developers have stopped trying to be innovative and would rather re-hash a game over and over while people pay for what they're used to. But don't get upset about what I say, you just concentrate on levelling your soldier in the same way you have done the last 5 games and you'll soon be able to buy a new dog collar for that innovative new dog they've put in ghosts.

Why would they ruin a winning formula? The popularity of the CoD has remained and they are making record profits. Sure there may be games out there that push the boundaries more, and may be considered "better" in terms of gameplay. For me though, when I play video games I play to have fun, I play online with friends because everyone buys this game.
  • It's only really a matter of time before COD just run a subscription based service where it will be online multiplayer only.

If Activision thought they could make more profit out of doing that it'd have been done already - although it does bring to mind something which highlights the point. Ubisoft released an online (albeit PC only if I remember rightly) version of Ghost Recon which is FTP - while Ubisoft are undeniably online code worshipers that gives it a better feel. The Ghost Recon games still have first rate story modes, but don't need to be so obsessive over MP.

You get the feeling though that if Activision could use Call of Duty with a World of Warcraft business model they'd do it in a heartbeat, can't say I'd blame them to be fair.

Simple answer is not to play it, I'm sure you don't play it judging by your post.

What I don't understand is why you're here moaning about it. Surely if you hate CoD that much you would just steer well clear of threads about it? Or are you just moaning for the sake of moaning?
  • i was so disappointed with BO2 and MW3 that i didn't buy the DLC content at all because i wasn't throwing money at a what looking like a medium sized update to the previous game that came out rife with bug glitches and cheats. i spent the first 24 hours on MW3 mingled with cheaters in lobby servers (and i mean obvious cheaters standing flat at spawn killing everyone through walls etc) then 6 weeks having to deal with glitchers taking advantage of obvious bugs in the game.

BO2 wasn't much different, OK improvement over sound and improved movement and graphical views, they took away dedicated servers, and made lobby system with a server base (i laugh when i see kids shout laggy? HOST LEAVE), almost no good hardcore modes anymore, and essentially its black ops 1 rehashed.

if i buy it i wont be in a rush to get it, if i get it i wont be in a rush to play it.

im looking forward to TITANFALL more than MW4 oops ghosts

It's called a debate my friend. I'm not moaning for the sake of moaning, I'm here because I have an interest in gaming, and like to see things progress. I enjoyed the first couple of CoD games thoroughly but saw that gamers are becoming cash-cows for some of the bigger companies. Look at some of the games, Assassins Creed, FIFA CoD, Battlefield, the Sims, Halo, Sonic, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and more, all once great games, each one innovative and fresh that are now re-hashed year on year with new maps or kits on the same old engine just chasing the pounds and dollars. And then there's Sim City, there's a whole thread to be had on EA's shameless pursuit of money on a once near perfect game.

I am likely to be getting it but only for the campaign mode.

Online is too much rush, kill - be killed - respawn & start again for me.
