What do you want to achieve?
I would suggest that you will need to be specific to him about the problems, what you expect him to do to rectify them and to confirm that you will pay him the balance of the costs once the work has been completed to your satisfaction.
If the builder a sole trader or part of a larger organisation? Does he have insurance? Is he part of a trade body?
Did you have a contract for the work, and was the figure of £450 a quote or an estimate? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

I was very specific,I pointed out all the mistakes, but he told me in the end he will fix them! I think he should be sole trade and on that web-side it said that he has insurance,I don't know much, and that was the quote,.
I should have payed more and get someone who knows the job but anyway,
 thank a lot for your replay:eek: linda0

We all learn by our mistakes.
Reply to him stating that you will pay in full, when the job is complete, and any issues rectified.
But i doubt he will come back, sounds very much like a cowboy.
Ask you friends and neighbours for recommend tradesmen0

I know hindsight is perfect, but you hired a painter and decorator to fit your floors?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Worth noting that the two (positive) reviews on MyBuilder have almost identical wording to each other... would have raised my eyebrows at the least. Hindsight is wonderful, though, as Doozergirl points out.0

What type of "floor" were you getting "changed"?
Was the builder employed on a labour-only basis or did it include materials?0
-
AAWWW I know now that I was wrong but I was only trying to get nice price,it said that he does flooring as well, and two reviews I didn't read at all,(silly me),and the floor was laminate, but to old and same laminate, and he was supposed just to fit the flooring, yes labour-only.
Anyway I just contacted CAB they told me my rights, and what I should do,
And thats what Im going to do.
 thanks everybody:eek: linda0

Just wondered what the CAB told you to do? I think it is just luck, as we are having building work and we didn't choose the cheapest and we even went to see the work the builder had done at a house before we went with them....and we are still having problems.0

The whole point of using a site like MyBuilder is the ability to read reviews and LEAVE reviews. Of course, some of the reviews will be fake but are easily spotted.
You can leave him negative feedback but your comments need to be truthful.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0
