Thank you for letting me know!

I was thinking about this thread last night :o

Just remember you don't need to make a sauce to make a meal, I enjoy plain grilled chicken or pork steaks with just some chips and a side veg (peas usually) :)
  • I'd absolutely love that, but with a family of 5 over 2 nights that would cost £10 to feed us!!! So I use 1/3rd of the meat and make a sauce, bulk it out with veg and use over 2 days and save us money. It's the price I pay to be a SAHM while the kiddies are small.

Although as a treat we'll have HM Chicken Goujions with Chips, it doubles the cost of the meal... But it's so yummy the children go crazy over it. I find adding the coating makes it look more too :)

I just fill up the space on the plate with chips/tatties and veg like my dietician told me to do :p

I'm still using pork loin steaks from the freezer that I got in Lidl's half price weekend offer a few weeks ago.
  • Torbrex - this is the problem with living in the country, I rely on the big 3 supermarkets to deliver at home because they're so far away, and go to lidls once every 2 months as it's so far from us. It's a big pain, as when I lived in Southampton it was all right on the doorstep :(

Momam - did a search, nearest farmfoods 31 miles, second nearest is Southampton at 35 miles! Looks like it'll have to wait a few months :(

    I sympathise :(
I like to get my hands on and find the bargains, I don't know if I could ever have a home delivery, I would miss out on so much

Yesterday morning I got sirloin steak, chicken breasts and sausages all at 30% off :)
  • Oh how I miss the days when I got such bargains... Now I just use mysupermarket and try and get the best deals I can each month.

I do buy fresh fruit and veg locally, but that's all the shopping I do :(

Although after a year here I may have just found a local farm shop advertised, I used to find that meat from a farm shop tasted better so you used less. So I'm going to take a look, see if they're any good :)

That's why we've upped the budget £20 a month and still struggling to stay in the lines! Oh well, it's nice living in the country...
