    Morning all,

Woke up yesterday morning to no power, it was off for 5 hours, we had guests, but luckily still managed to offer tea and breakfast, thank god for gas, other than that we were unaffected by the storm.

Yesterday was heartbreakingly sad, but it was a beautiful day and I think we did my dad proud the service was beautiful and commented on by lots of people. We then went to a local pub and sat by a roaring log fire and talked about him and laughed and cried, then back to my sisters for much of the same accompanied by a 40 year old scotch whisky, which my dad would have loved.

Thank you all so much for the support, it really does mean such a lot. Going to have an easy day today, just need to clear through this morning, will then sit and do nothing, we are all shattered.

    Thanks again xxxx

(((Red ruby))) lots of love to you. I bet you are shattered. We are all here for you xxx

The loft hatch was down this morning. It must have been blown loose in the storm. Anyway I've shoved it back up. I used brute force. And a naughty word. :o

Washing on, litter tray cleaned, loft hatch repaired, dw emptied & on a cleaning cycle, dish rack emptied.

Need to have some breakfast, then a shower & then get on with my day.

It's a slow start today. Nevermind, it's half term.

Himself back at work today, all the trains are running.

Need to do a menu plan. Have somehow spent huge amount in the supermarkets with very little to show & no menu. Eek.

Trying to get ds2 to poo on the toilet. He's autistic & has global development delay. He's 4.6. I got his dry in feb this year (he'd been dry overnight for a long time). He just will not poo on the toilet. He still asks for a nappy. Trouble is, the position he poos in is completly different to sitting on the loo. I don't know what to do tbh. He never goes at school, so they don't have to deal with him.

Julie, these companies giving zero hours are awful. Your poor son.

Luxor, I like the sound of your mum! And well done to your daughter. I'm job hunting. It's Not Good.

Hard up Hester,I'd love to have a link to your blog x I also have fish. Some of them have personalities & make me laugh!

Nmlc,I can't see how mediums work. I'm a bit of a cynic! The world would be boring if we all thought the same! Have a lovely evening x

TTFTM, the costumes sound great! Ours are shop bought. :o

Sistercas, I'm sure phones can be bought cheaper than that! That's a horrendous quote.

Donnygal, glad the party was good.

BB, hope you went back to sleep.

I have discovered if I press go advanced I can see the posts! Now I don't need to be rude & seem like I'm ignoring you all!

Right, off for breakfast, more coffee& then my shower.

    Love (((hugs))) & spoons

    xxx

    Morning all,

redruby-I'm glad you felt you'd given your DDad a good farewell.I'm not surprised you're shattered with extra guests etc and it is an emotionally draining time.Hugs

It went very chilly last night so the multi fuel burner got filled with logs.Luckily we have loads from having a tree cut down previously, some had been dried inside.Just wish we'd remembered to open our bedroom door then the heat would have filtered up there.

Going to do either spag bol or lasagne for tea.Now DS2 has moved out and I don't have to plan for his allergies as often I think tomatoes and chicken may find their way back onto the menu more often ;)

Glad no-one here seems too affected by yesterdays storms, just feel for the folk who lost loved ones :(

I shortened one curtain for DS2s house yesterday, just need to do the other now.I hate doing curtains :D but they were in a bargain tub at dun elm and were cheap-just miles too long :rotfl:

Ok time to get a move on,hope you all have the best day you can x

    Hi all.

Redruby so glad your Dad got a good sendoff.

Hester no dogs at present - the JR that should have been here this week cancelled, the owners had a death in the family so cancelled their holiday - and no bookings at present; but November tends to be quiet; hopefully there'll be a guest over Xmas, or I'll climb the walls with boredom! The franchisee has a note of the two days I can't do (19th Nov we're attending the opera in Northampton and will be out for a good 5 hours, too long to leave a dog, and 5th Dec is Mr LW's b'day and I've promised him a day for just us), so he'll let me know as soon as he has a woofer for me.:o

TTFTM those costumes sound fantastic - I'd love to see pics! The one time I went to a Samhain "do" I just wore some of my own clothes, converted my winter hat into a witches hat, and carried my broomstick - the same one Mr LW and I stepped over, back in 2003.:D Mr LW wore his tweed jacket and cap and borrowed some old-fashioned style motor cycle goggles, and went as Mr Toad - the premise being "I turned him into a toad, and this was the result".:rotfl: He even had a "Toad" card from our Talisman game, so he could say to people "here's my card".:D

New microwave has arrived; I have to wait for Mr LW to unpack it and lift it into position before I can play with it, though.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

We bought 6 platy's today as our tank was looking a little monochrome, our Molly's are breeding so we have a lot of black and white fish at present.

    Hello all,

We're back! Had a really lovely, relaxing week. Raised a glass in memory of mum on Friday. I can't believe it's been a year since she passed away.

DD1 has been offered an interview for a job - fingers crossed.

Am working tonight so have jacket spud in the oven to have before I go or to take with me, will see how I feel.

Typing on phone again so apologies for any typos!

Hugs to all who fancy one. Xxx

Thanks, I shall have a read of that later x

I've bought a dehumidifier today. Exciting huh. I also got a
Christmas tree. I only have artificial ones as I can't deal with the pine needles. I had 15% off as well so that was good.

Got tailgated earlier as well. The utter idiot. I was doing the speed limit.

    xxx
