o2 retentions giving me rubbish deal?
Hiya, I've been with o2 for a good few years now (maybe 5) and have just phoned them up to get a better deal.
I'm on Online 200 which was 200 mins and 500 texts, with a phone, for £29.99/month.
I've just been through to Retentions who have explained that the systems have changed and the best deal she can give me is the new Online 25 (18mo contract) with 200 mins, 400 texts, for £20/month for 12 months then £25/month afterwards.
I'm not very happy with that deal - I was looking for £20 a month contract, £15 if possible, but with a better deal than that...
The lady said the system now works out your entitlement by calculating how much you've spent with them - she said at one point "this is the best deal I can do, I get a certain amount on screen with which I can discount you by, and I have a penny left after applying this discount to you".
Is that right? I'm going to call back, should I try for a better deal? The way she was talking sounded as if they have very little room to manouver.
Thanks!

Threaten to leave them! I tried this last year because they wanted me to pay £89.99 for the phone I wanted and £35 p/m on 18 month contract, when I said I was leaving they offered me 12 month contract, £20 p/m and free phone. My contract is due again so I hope it works this year!
P.S. I just phoned them and said I was moving to Vodafone because they had a better deal and they just said they weren't aware of the vodafone deal and couldn't match it!!!!!0 -
You're getting ripped off with that deal considering they just offered me 750 anytime mins + 250 texts for only £8 more/month.
O2 retentions have been absolute !!!!! this year though... they aren't budging on deals and don't seem fussed about losing customers. I literally called them about 15-20 times to finally get a deal I was satisfied and still ended up paying a bit over the odds in terms of the phone price .0
