Hi am looking at saving some money (as preparing for a cut in income of a guestimated £500+ a month in the new year). We are not in a Virgin Media area. I currently have:
Sky TV sky+box Entertainment Extra + multiscreen pack - £37.50
Tesco BroadBand - £24.50
Tesco Telephone Anytime (incl line rental) - £20.50
And am either looking to transfer to 1 combined package with Sky however I wish to upgrade to HD box but would have to cancel the mutiscreen to compensate for the extra fee (as wanting to save not add money) and upgrade to the new entertainment extra plus package. Add telephone (incl landline) and BroadBand. We would also have the Sky Go adapter.
Or alternatively was looking at transfering all to BT Infinity as this is the only other provider who has Discovery channel (we watch all the time). Includng telephone (+linerental) and BroadBand.
My only concerns that I am aware of up to now are Sky have a 'foreign' call centre for customer service. I dont get on with these but find a lot of the time I now use 'online chat' help instead of telephone.
I have no experience with BT for over 10 years now so may as well say I have no idea of thier service quality or customer care.
Can anyone help cut my total bills for TV, BB and telephone in half or more please for combined packages (or separate providers if helps me lower bills significantly).
Thanks.

Just go to the various websites and compare new customer offers. The Sky online "chat" facility is just as likely to be manned by foreign call centre staff as domestic.
It's certainly true that having a "triple play" of services from one supplier is generally cheaper than splitting the three across providers.0 -
Whenever i have phoned Sky I have spoken to a scottish operator, I don't know if you class these as foreign,
I think all of the BT support is offshore.0 -
A Sky call centre person told me that they have just one foreign call centre out of ten (?), but the online chat does seem to be manned from abroad.( I aborted two conversations where the person obviously had communication problems)
However, it does seem very rare to get a BT call centre person who is in the UK.
I have recently left BT for Sky and find the latter much more helpful.0 -
I have just renewed my contract with Sky, as I have decided to move my broadband to them aswell. I have always had excellent customer service from them in the 13 years I have been with them, and always spoken to scottish operators. I have the sky+HD box, with entertainment extra, sky sports, landline with weekend and evening free calls, and managed to wangle free broadband for 12 months, and I will be paying about £50. Personally I would never go back to BT, awful customer service and slightly more expensive then Sky for line rental (pennies admittedly, but it all counts)Just bumbling along, trying to save some moneyCouldn't do it without coming here every day:T:T:T£2 Savers ClubSealed Pot Challenge - ~16930

Whilst I really like BT's products and services (BT Vision) and fibre rocks, their telephone customer service stinks. Though the BT Care team facility (via email) is 100% effective (UK based).0
