Electricity while camping

poe.tuesday  Red card without doubt!
I switch my mobile phone on for a few minutes each day to receive texts, and if it needs charge, use the sockets in the toilet block. I can live without music/ TV. Buy a cool bag for your beer. Gas stove for the kettle. Battery lights. As for the picket fencing!
Ban luxury campers! They take up too much space, make too much noise, drive prices up, and always whinge that things are not comfortable enough. Go rent a caravan, or use a hotel if you want luxury!:p

my blow up sofa is so comfy, I feel for you, sitting on that hard, cold ground
I have a huge tent, a gazibo, blow up beds, a fridge, electrical hook up, a cooking table and two other tables, chairs, rugs on the ground to keep my toes warm , even had a fan when it got too hot once
but I don't moan about camp sites, I don't want any club house or anything like that, the more basic and rural the better for me, but there again, I do bring my home with me

I can live with or without electricity on campsites - but the english weather being as it is, a fortnights holiday is made bearable with my fan heater on an evening when the weather is not what I ordered. It also helps to dry you out (nothing worse than 4 lots of damp clothes!!)0

Ive never been before and also I want my hair to look nice for going out as its my birthday holiday. Ive lived very basically many times and I dont care about the tv or anything but a hairdryer is a must for my hair else ill look like a scarecrow!
Sounds like ive started a debate here0 -
Appalling! Camping is about being uncomfortable, making do, living close to nature and using the hedge for night-time relief. Britain did not build an Empire or win two World Wars by having hairdryers, fridges and fan heaters. What a bunch of wimps.:doh:0

camping is about having fun and a holiday and if you want to have all the luxuries the so be it, if you want to sleep on cold lumpy ground then that's also cool - each to their Dylanwing0

I totally agree, it's all about enjoyment :j and personal preference, and I'm not really such a 'Tent Taliban'. Can we all agree though, no vacuum cleaners!0
-
totally agree, no vacuums, but have you seen those fly swats that look like tennis rackets that zap the flies - now there's a camping must have ;-)0

Too true! But you try telling t' young o' today that ... they won't believe you...they won't! (We used to live in a cardboard box in t'middle o t'road and my kids won't believe that neither!) ... with apologies to the Monty Python team and Yorkshiremen everywhereAppalling! So that's why we have a tv, an aircon unit and three different types of heater, three different ways of keeping my beers cool in the fridge, and a decent loo onboard so we don't have to go out on rainy nights to the nice 24 hour warmed spotlessly clean toilet blocks provided by the campsite:rotfl:
So, if not camping, you can call us....well .... maybe .... LUMBERJACKS!!!
Now then, all together now .... (leaving out the verse please with the ladies accoutrements!)
Oh I'm a L.... :j0 -
I think we have found the cause of Global warming! My traditional approach is because-
A - I can't fit much in a Skoda Fabia
B - I am too mean to pay for a hook up
I cut down trees I eat my lunch I go to the lavatory....0
