Thanks Roast, what you are saying makes sense - but sometimes from what you read on these forums always leaves some doubt.
However just to keep everyone in the loop that's the valuation booked for 30th Jan (1 week today), the MA said I should have an update by Friday 31st.0 -
sorry to say but when we applied for a mortgage we were offered a mortgage in principle last year. Thought great, found a awesome house and when called RBS to confirm all the details, we were told to that my wifes credit came back with a no go. After checking through experian we found a old student loan that should have been removed and had not. Needless to say I put the mortgage in my name and proceeded to purchase the house. Watch out for principle offers, they still do checks thereafter.0

Walked into the house on Saturday to a letter from Halifax "Your Mortgage Offer" Have to day one of the best feelings in the world. Now I can stop worrying and look forward to our new home (Hopefully finished in July).
Just goes to show that even with a few blips on your credit file, if you look after from there on, you can get the decision you are looking for.0 -

Hi RossFTB, was your mortgage offer subject to the valuation?0 -

Hi Guys,
Nope alongside the offer was the valuation. I don't know if the broker got their dates mixed up with valuation or maybe as it is a new build scheme they could have doubled up and done valuations while valuing another property. (which i find a bit of a joke as there are not even any foundations yet).0 -

Hi there, not sure if this post is still being followed however I have just started contracting 4 months ago and received a decision in principle from Halifax, does anyone know of or have any experience of a mortgage being approved/declined after getting a DIP as a contractor who hasn't been doing it long? Is there anything I can do to ensure the loan is approved when i go to apply for it fully? thanks again for all your help!0
