The cheapest house in London?

I know - the "dollop of windows" made me :rotfl: too!
To be honest, although it's on such a scummy estate, that flat is going to be a really solid BTL investment for somebody. Nobody in their right mind would buy it to live in, but snap it up for cash - after all, nobody would mortgage it - then rent it to a large family in receipt of HB and I can imagine you'd have a guaranteed income which would more than cover your costs.
That's if you're prepared to take the chance that Southwark Council might decide to pull the whole estate down before you've got the return on your investment :rotfl:

Given the location, maybe "windows" wasn't the word the EA originally chose to end the sentence withSomeone should name & shame the EA who could describe a house as having "a large dollop of windows"!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

haha, I'm so glad I haven't the need to live in london. I'm buying a 3bed semi in a lovely part of the south coast for only £18k more...
With actual garden, not just what can only be imagined to be as a small clod of earth on the patio... pft "garden room"... honestly.Pure Profile: £5.40
Valued Opinions: £2 (not that impressed by them)
RPoints/Quidco: Not much, waiting for a couple to appear on the radar.
Financial Achievements 2008: 1) £46 Agent Provocateur for just £22.43, new and legal!
2) Had HSBC waive £100 of fees0 -
I'll be in London soon and don't understand why anyone would buy that property! In Liverpool you could buy a nice flat in decent area for 170k.The obsession with living in London is ott, must be sad if you're a Londoner but poor (anyone who can't afford 300k +)0

In fairness, I have seen *much*, *much* grottier places than that.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0

Perhaps we can start a thread called "most over-priced sh*thole"
Or something like that anyway.0 -

There would be a hell of a lot of competition in London for that award!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Do you know the area? I'll grant you that the flat looks reasonable on the interior, and that the exterior, while ugly and obviously on an Inner London council estate, is not in nearly as bad a state of repair as some similar buildings.Melissa177 wrote: »In fairness, I have seen *much*, *much* grottier places than that.
But the estate is a proper sh*thole.

Wouldn't you just so much prefer this one.
Of course the floor plan is absolutely essential in order to understand what you are purchasing.:rotfl:
Actually this MUST be the cheapest 3 bed house in London. I want it! And we can all be cash buyers too!0 -
You have to admire the spirit of the neighbour of the first house, building such a fancy front wall when iron gates are the norm.Been away for a while.0
