Funny how I feel I can ask for advice on here knowing I will get honest and truthful opinions! If I had gone in a shop or rang a retailer they would have persuaded me to buy at £200 internet security package from them!

Hi.personally I think paying is the way to go.I used AVG many years back & my PC got a Trojan infection.Since switching to Kaspersky about six years back I have not had a single issue.

It is not expensive eg: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/20462600/-/Product.html?_$ja=tsid:13315|cat:20462600|prd:20462600&$$ja=cgid:7025487057|tsid:48121|cid:130773417|lid:54129055737|nw:g|crid:22604418777|rnd:3978811831508002611|dvc:c|adp:1o1|mt:

I want to join in the love-in too. I've also used AVG for years with no probs, now I'm using MS software that came with the laptop, because a friend who knows said it's overtaken AVG at the mo for efficiency or something, but I would defo agree that it's not worth paying for.

This site has got very cuddly warm lately. Brings out the hippy in me - am loving it :D

Thanks I'll check that one out too - I have heard Kaspersky are good :) WOW £7.49 - that isn't bad at all! My renewal for Norton was not far off £100! I think I will go for that!

I never buy it from the likes of PC World as they charge top whack but no one can convince me that about £8 for 3 PCs to be covered for a year is expensive.I use it on a laptop as well & pass the other use on to a relative.

I switched from AVG to Avast some months back, it's good., was having problems with AVG not updating. I use windows firewall and Trusteer Report, which was recommended by my bank. I also run windows defender to scan for the spyware.

    All free, would never pay.

    Spybot is good too.

I did have McAfee with my broadband package, but they did an update last year and I lost my internet completely.

The BT techy department finally got it sorted for me and put me on AVG- which they used. But I changed to Avast and it works well...
