Hi, Just wondered if any one has any recommendations...
My current subscription to Norton runs out next month and the online renewal seems very pricey so I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a good alternative? And is it cheaper to buy a security package from a retailer (eg curries/pc world) or download online?
Thanks in advance

I would go for AVG or avast, both are free and i've found them to be very effective:starmod: Looking for the lucky dust :starmod:

Microsoft essentials and avast are very good. And they are free.
I have used both and never had any problems in 5 years.0 -
Thanks guys - I think I will check out AVAST. If it does the same thing as NORTON for 0% of the price then that is good enough for me!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

 never pay for it!
Through recommendations on the Tech board on MSE I have installed:
Avast Free Antivirus
Malewarebytes Free Version
Windows Defender switched on
Then to keep the laptop running well I have:
CCleaner which I run once a week to get rid of anything you don't need
Superantispywere which I run once a week after CCleaner this is to check nothing has got through the Avast, Malewerebytes & Windows defender

Thanks Luckyone - I guess I am one of those suckers who gets talked into signing up for things I don't need (or are not worth the money!):TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0
