    good morning all:)

quite windy here overnight, kept me awake most of night. just seen on news storm is due to hit it's peak for us in about hour then start to die down. lights been flickering so may lose power.

think will have to take a detour to get to work today as i usually drive right along the seafront, my dad told me last time there were heavy winds seafront was closed due to pebbles flying off the beach into the road.

Ooh is this from today... Comparing beans to morries ? :)

Thanks to the posters who posted details of the beans if the apg isn't showing the multi buy what price does this make them. Am quite rubbish at working out stuff. Tia

Hi durham05, I've "bean" out of the loop for a few days, but before the Hnz beanz 4 packs were comparing against T's nicely. It looks like they're comparing even better v Morries now, 2 packs for £3, producing APG of £2.48, so 52p for 8 tins. No doubt someone will be along to correct me if that's wrong, I haven't woken up properly yet. :D

EDIT - beans NOT comparing against M in As (yet), only in Ts.

    Asda compare against T, buy in 2s for £3, APG = £1.40, so £1.60 for 8 tins.
    Hope is not a strategy.

    Morning all:)
  • It's been down for hours and hours - has to be a massive update.
I have an order coming this afternoon too:eek:

Wind is picking up here a bit BUT nowhere near as bad as yesterday, as yet, rain seems to have died down a bit. Hope they have missed the forecast yet again totally and we got the worst yesterday.

Mildred if you PM me where you are located I'll see if I can find more info for you. I know it's worrying when you're away.
Seems like Newport is pretty badly hit in some areas with roads flooding.
Coldra M4 closed J22-24 and both Severn crossings closed - nice detour - NOT!

Reminds me of 22nd Oct 1998 - the day before I flew to New Orleans to meet my now hubby for 1st time. Was going to stay overnight at my best friend's in Manchester BUT I hadn't packed so decided to go up early next morning. The weather was atrocious so thought it better to wait.

Got shouted at over the phone "YOU - get up here NOW!"

Spent 15mins on phone and got totally told off, so much so that I packed in 10 minutes flat & made my way up there at 6pm.

Hmmmm - It took me 7 hrs to drive there (In those days 2hrs for the 170 miles was normal for me - not so many speed cameras then!). I could hardly see as rain was SO bad.

IF I hadn't got shouted at by her I'd never have made the flight as Wales ended up flooded, almost totally, many roads impassable that I'd have needed to take.

Everything ended well though - we met & were married after 10 days. Shocking both myself and everyone who knew me as we'd only met online 10 wks beforehand and I rarely did anything major on a whim + was happily single & independent. Meant to be!

Best friend phoned last weekend to once again remind me that if she hadn't insisted on me travelling up the night before, it might never have happened. :A:)

How lovely, WIRS, I love stories of how people met. I met my DH of over 20 years on a school trip when I was 17. :j
