Cancelling Orange contract
I am on a 12 month contract with Orange using a Sony Ericsson k800i.
At the moment I am just awaiting month 12 bill, to claim my last installment of cashback from E2save(which has gone smoothly so far). So I am thinking of taking out another contract, Dialaphone seem to have some good cashback deals on the Sony Ericsson k810i, roughly about the price I am paying at the moment (£16 per month with cashback taken into consideration for 200 minutes) on O2.
I will need to cancel the Orange contract before soon, so how much notice do I give them and should I do it immediately after I receive my 12th bill? Could I also port my number from Orange to O2?
Just another question, my wife needs a new phone and is on PAYG now with O2. She is fancying my K800i, but can I get this unlocked to take a O2 PAYG sim or would it be better to just get an Orange PAYG sim, she does not really want to change her number.
