Received PCN from MET today! Need help!

  • Hi Afonja.

I got a fine from the MET parking at Riverside last week. Like you guys, I basically stayed over the 2.5 hours and did not realise so did not sign their form. I've asked them to cancel it for me but they say they can't. Would really appreciate a copy of your correspondance with them so that I can refer to it and say something similar as I'd really like them to cancel my fine, rather than having to go through POPLA, which seems more risky as i can't afford to have the fine increased.
Just to try to understand what you've said, was it the CEO that complained to MET on your behalf that got the fine cancelled, or was it you complaining to the CEO twice? Just wondering how difficult this will be!
I've noticed that there are actually loads of signs about parking around the car park - am wondering if these are new since your incident in Oct (my fine was 31st Dec).
    Thanks

Sarahmay please start your own thread after reading the Sticky thread that explains everything https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
  • OK, sorry, will start a new thread. The only reason I posted this hear is because I'm specifically hoping that Afonja will give me the details of his case with Riverside Norwich, as this is where my ticket is from.
    Thanks
  • quick update - my 'fine' has been cancelled!! I kept chasing the gym - i sent a strongly worded email to the centre manager and copied to the CEO, stating that i was fully aware that they are able to cancel these fines and basically told them I'd cancel my membership if they couldn't show some better customer service. I received an email back the same day (today) saying he can confirm that MET has withdrawn the fine. Whooop whoop to that! so no need to start a new thread now!

    Cheers

My wife had a identical situation to yours. Got fined for overstaying at the the car park while she used the swimming pool.
We would like to complain to the central manager and the CEO.
Could you please send me their emails?

Mike you didn't get fined! Just appeal it like everyone does, and win at POPLA:

Come on - this is easy - 100% record here for nearly 18 months, winning every time at POPLA.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
